888 poker to shut down in Australia?  0
Logged into 88poker his morning and instead of a welcome message, I am told that my account will be deleted on the 16th of January. business reasons they say. Is this true or are 888poker actually giving two big fingers to the Aussie poker players?

It always sucks when you see news like this, sooner or later you will have no more available poker rooms to play at and that you will have no choice than to choose a small site which we all know is not good for our money. I feel very sorry for you guys that will no longer be able to play at big popular rooms Sad

offer my condolences ... is certainly a very sad situation and incomprehensible to me ... why limit people that they like and keep the game interesting ??? I just do not understand ... well that in my country before this is not reached, and I have the opportunity to play their favorite game ... if in my country will be something like that, I'll move to another country

yep it totally sucks and I thought 888 poker was an Australian owned site but could be wrong on that. If it is 888 decision they can suck eggs but I actually believe it has something to do with Australia's s**t government. I did hear they were going to ban Australians from online gambling sites as more and more Australians are now gambling in online casinos and they think by doing this that the gamblers will have no choice but to go to Australian casinos or play slots at their local club or pub and therefore government earns more money through tax. The thing they dont get is that Im guessing more people are gambling online as our pokies (slot machines) and casinos here are a joke. In South Australia the maximum win on a slot machine is $10,000 and then if you actually look at the payouts on most pokies the highest paying symbol on max bet would no even reach the $10,000 dollar mark. If u actually have worked in the industry like I have you wont even find many staff who have paid out $10,000 and if they have it would be lucky if it was more than once. Anyway I know I wont be one of these suckers the Australian government thinks it going to make money off me for banning online gambling I just wont gamble anymore. Get sick of these idiots thinking they have the right to force you to spend your hard earned $ where they wont you to instead of letting me decide where I spend MY money. Maybe if they were not so money hungry and make slots so you could actually win a decent amont of money and did not tax pubs and clubs so high so they turn down the payout percentage more people would gamble here than seek for better value online. I can honestly say I have won more times and bigger amounts in the 3 years of online gambiling than I have won in 26 years gambiling in Australia and that is not a joke. THe Australian government can suck eggs as far as Im concerned

well kelster it's more of the same in many parts of the world- fcukin goverments with bunch of fcuksters siting in their fcukin chairs to only change the law in the most fcukingly possible way. for example back here in the unknown lands of lithuania we are left with only 1 legal poker site that has 200 players at peak time... lol. fcuk you fcukin politicians.

in terms of poker, if they did ban sites here then we would be fucked. atleast poker in aussie is strong in real life.

The new gambling laws keep messing things over the whole world.
And it will become even worst, when the rest of the governments become greedy too.
They only want you to spent your money where they want to, to get that tax.
How else how they play "politics"
