I agree that it wont affect the recreational players at some point.
But at the end it is the grinders that are paying the price.
And there are lots that are playing in low limits for some low steady income.
But again, good thing there are more big sites out there.

I'm sure some recreational players - like myself - still care about their money and being able to cashout once in a while. On party I never have to deposit and cashout atleast 5 times a year so I really have no reason to go back to stars especially if I feel like they're stealing money from me. 12% rake may not seem like a big deal, but if you have 15% ROI, you just lost 40% of your profit in the long run... It is huge even for winning players.

Being a recreational player doesn't mean you have to be a dumb customer/client/consumer... Blink

I think that on some points, this will affect on number of players at their site, because people dont like when you take something from them, especially when this system is for years and now you change it!so this will be something different in future!

Sorry, didn't mean to insult recreational players! Smile I'm actually also a small-winning recreational player. I was saying about the majority, not all of course. I was playing for years at stud tables with horrible players, which used to deposit regularly... If people don't mind to lose hundreds, why the should care about a small rake increase? Actually, I think it was one of the goals- to remove professionals and small-winning players to stop discouraging fish from playing there.

I do not think pokerstars wants to discourage fish players because they just want money. There are many fish players who deposit money in every month. This money gets into the pockets of more experienced players. They play many games at the same time and commissions for pokerstars are very good.
