Yep, its funny how you get on those rides sometimes, and no you havnt lost before you start if your heads in the right place, on the other hand if your going through a bad patch in a tourny ill just walk away for 10/15 minutes and come back, most tournys go for 3or4 hrs plus so theres plenty of time to turn things around, i like to look at how much the tournament chip leader has at hte second break, 9 times out of 10 he isnt there at the finish. by the way very nice win as well.

My only bigger win at tourney is 3rd. place at 16k GTD tour, and that was miracle because in one moment when i lost with JJ against blind stealer i was left with only 2.8k
of chips while 1st. player in that moment had more then 250k and player next to me had about 45k, blinds was 800/1600 so i had for 1.5 BBs only. I have won next two hands and then i was on 50k on chips and then seems to me that cards just started to hitting me, that was crazy, few times i got AA, KK, flopped few straights and flushes and kicked out more then 10 players. But after 30 minutes everything become normal so i think that i have just got lucky for some period same as i sometimes have very bad luck, not that i was predicted to finish 3rd because after that lucky period it was my game that lead me to final table. Now i dont have time to play MTT cause you need 6-8 hours to finish tour if you made to final table.

I've come 1st a few times and I've never felt like I was going to win especially going to the final table as the short stack the majority of the time.

The fact is, you need luck on your side otherwise any skill you have is pointless.

Yes sometimes I have this feeling too and when i have it i cannot lose also i won a few without that feeling while being short stacked at some point of tournament. Makes you wonder sometimes how cards go your way just at the right moment.

I think it's also the manner you play the cards. If your shortstacked, you don't take that many risks, you automaticly concentrate more on the table, when your in the big stack, you don't care cause your winning and bullying everybody, and like we all know, when you play lots of hands, you get a lot of "bad beats".

congrats for winning the tourney btw, hope your luck lasts Smile

i believe confidence has a big part in how well we play, or momentem being another big part, if your on the wrong side of any of these 2 theorys, your in trouble. Confused Question Disagree Angry Shock Sad

Actually I don`t like to bully around too much while being big stack, learned the hard way it can backfire. I do real bullying while I am ultra big stack and when even a lost hand wont make anyone a real threat to me. It was my flaw in the game in the beginning but i dealt with it.
About risk while I am short stacked, I don`t know, it depends on the table. One tactic is not working on every table.

Confidence is big part, i totally agree on that.
