I started to look for information to make an autonomous learning system to try to improve my poker playing. So I found an oceanic dimension of information in all the ways that are possible. All is different and all is good, brought by the hand of the good pro players, who had schools, academies, blogs, etc, etc, etc. You really can lose your mind in that enormous labyrinth. So I thought that I need a coach to give me some orientation to make my own path. But when I look for it, I found the banking system and stables for groups of contract´s players... This, and the poker`s bot programs (that I found too) really could change the poker like I thought that it was

There is lots of good poker information out there but the main thing to remember is to keep it fun as you strive to improve your game. At one time I took the game too seriously and started to lose focus of the important things in my life, and so I left the game (and BRM). During the three years that I have been away my life has become richer than it ever was when I was playing regularly. I have moved up in my job, started a business during my spare time and spent more time than ever with my family. A small injury now has given me some empty time to fill, so I made a small deposit and started playing again, but these days I don’t have trouble anymore to close up the game and do something else. Poker has become enjoyable again. Good luck with your poker journey.

Yes it is very big numbers of information for all places and many people and organization and it is sometimes not know what to read and what strategy is best. But i think it is good to take one strategy then another and always have numbers you have when play poker to this strategy

Thanks mahdrof for your advise and for share your experience. I think I have a plan where the poker has a good place. In a few years -no more than three- I will start my retirement. In my country, this is equal to enter in the poverty and, in my case, still with an adolescent/young daughter. My options are to try to make some consulting about urbanism in some public organism in Latin America, and this is more difficult than winning the World Championship one and another time through 10 years in a row. Not impossible but too difficult. So, if I learn and improve my poker, I could make the difference that I need to sustain our way of life. And this I would do in any place and any time until we needed. But the point of this threads is that the scenery has changed and now I have some doubts about my plan, and I´m an old horse to that stables

I see what you are trying to do. The game is a lot tougher than it was when I started playing 11 years ago, but with the right strategy and proper bankroll management it is not impossible. I recommend reading David Sklansky's "The Theory of Poker". You can find a free version here:
Some people consider it old-fashioned, but I like it from a mathematical poker point of view.
You also need to figure out where you have an edge on other players. Are you a SNG, tournament or cash player? You need to find your place and exploit it and grow and think about the game. Years ago this forum was a great place for posting hands and asking other players for their feedback, there were some good and profitable players here in the forum. If that is no longer the case find a forum where solid poker discussions still happen. Buena suerte
I tried to use different courses for learning to play poker, but probably most of all in terms of improving the game, time influenced me the more you play poker the more you understand the different nuances probably for me personally this is the most important learning game

I not think it is good to think that you can make money from ppker or casino or betting, yes of course this can be but it is hard thing and also luck is very important, when you do business or go to work, you not need luck but brain or hard work, here you caj try hard but still lose money

You are a good partner Mahdorf, I thank you very much (Muchas gracias!). I´m a S&G player, but now I´m paying attention to Spin (3players sngt) and MTT´s that are growing too much. I found an old page of strategy of poker that guides my learning, but they have closed a hands´s evaluate service. Only has a forum where other players could discuss your hands. When I feel that I´m consolidated my ABC poker, I´m thinking to spend some money in a coach. Then...I will see. I´m looking for two books that are not expensive but is difficult to buy and shipping to my country. It are: Crushing Online Sit and Go's, by Greg Jones; and The mental game of poker, by Jared Tendler. If you know where I could download or buy an e-book I will be very grateful! Last but not less important, I subscribed to BRM for his freerolls and, a long while later I found the forum. It occupy a place really necessary: a social containment for a poker´s player. I haven´t poker´s friend. Near to me, poker doesn´t exist. So this place where I can chat with others player is very important for me. Again Mahdorf, thank for all!

Not that I was ever very good at sticking to it, but proper bankroll management is key to staying in this game long term. As for the Spin SNGs, they are a double-edged sword. You will find a lot of gamblers playing them, which is good if you are a solid player, but the shortstack and rapid pace of the game combined with a pot which is often not as big as it would normally be means the variance can be quite high. I played those for a time and found that to be profitable you really have to win those games where the payout is big. However I went for a stretch at one point where my opponents sucked out often on those big pots, and then tilt set in, and ....

To me reading poker books bot many use, because i always think that if some people who write poker book knoe how to play poker so they win money why they take big time to write book when better play this time on poker tables, and also why say secrets to all people
I’ve been looking for something interesting to read and this classic from 2004 looks like a good one to get into. I’m sure I have seen this before but haven’t read it. I think the warming comes that it is now 14 years old, but the math and the basics don’t change, but the style of play does, so keep that in ind when reading it.

If you want to improve your game faster, then "outside" help will do the trick. As suggested by mahdrof reading a book can help you widening your spectrum of playing cards and how to play them in each situation. Not that reading a book or more will make you a winning player You will need practice of course.
A good coach as you are thinking to get one, i believe beats all the other methods, books, videos etc

Thank you Mahdrof for the tips about Spin and Go! I play it a few times and I feel his difficult, summon the luck that you need to beat an important random prize. It´s really crazy how this game become so popular, with a created company to explode it through contracts players. I decide to continue my own path, reading and viewing all the material to my game format and level. Then, when I feel that my playing is solid...I will see!
