i have 9h9d, in the board 2d 8d 7d, i must go all in or not?

you would have to explain the situation or not. I normally would not go all in right away.

If I was low ship count i.e. 10 - blinds then I would.

Good luck on that.... usually a recipe or a big win or big disaster Blink

why would you even consider going all in ?, you only have top pair with a flush and a str8 draw on the board, maybe you should stick to play money until you get a better grasp of the game, or only use bonus money, im not trying to be a prick but you"ll lose a lot of money if you dont know what to do there. way to risky. I like the bet/fold line here. Just bet, 50-75% pot and fold a raise. If you are called, he likely has a draw or is slowplaying a flush.

Going all in turns your hand into a bluff. The 9 Diamond is of little help, cause if a fourth Diamond hits the board your opponents will usually have the higher flush. Try to keep the pot small.

it's more riskious because there are 4 diamonds... and 9 9 is not the top... you must consider your position, your opponents and the situation...but go all in is not a good idea Blink good luck

this always depends, it depends on your opponent (if he's a maniac, donk,winner,.. whatever Smile ), on your image, on your position, on your stack and the one of your opponent and the reads you got on him, on that board, I wouldn't really try to bluff, if he has you, you won't get him out

Semi classic one i would say!

First of all.. What pos. are you in UTG or on the Button? (Big difference)

How many people are there in the pot? And how big are their Stacks?

Did anyone raise and maybe even re-raise before the flop or did you reiase?

Last but not least.. Are they Tight / Loose Callin stations or what are they?

wat kind of question is that??
like no info other at all sorrryy but without more info i cant help
if u were just playing the cards then i would check n if theres a bet i will consider the pot odds before calling, raising or shoving is out of the question but as i said that is when u r just playing ur cards
n also i think u should listen to intencity4 n go play some play money games grab a few poker books n knock yourself out over them

it is a pretty nice hand, but someone might be holding a better two pair or hit a better hand so dont always go all in be careful

i'll not go all in with 99 here..
i think its to dangerous
If someone call you the only call with a better hand they shall not call with toppair i think so if they call they have might there flush or a bigger pair.
So i'll only bet and look what your opponents do.
Think i'll bet 75% pot!

This is not enough information to make a decision. Was the pot raised what's your position? What was the action?.... Please think first before asking questions.

who knows.what was the end result, then look back and review what happened.did some one flop the flush,or were they drawing with the ace high flush.cant say.if that was my flop it very dangerous.youcant go all in.to many diamonds and 99 is still a crap hand even with that flop.all in.NO

yeah i must say, this is the kind of hand id rather not get, because you know the bluffers will have a crack at it (aggressive players anyway) or anyone with a desent diamond will have a look, you know your probably in front but theres just to many scenarios to be positive with it, depending on position, limit, game, and your gut felling anyway. Confused

I keep reading this thread and i cant belive this....poker its about odds!!! are u afraid for another diamond??? U can throw this hand 10 times and u are not going to see another diamond in 8...somebody flop the flush??? are u kidding? what are the odds of that??? its a good chance to doble up or maybe triple up!!! push all your chips and pray because u want to see some stupids calling with the K and the Ace of diamonds.

tripple up ? if you had two all in callers with this hand your in all sorts of trouble.

You are only flipping against two overs with a diamond among them. Problem here is, if you are ahead, you are only slightly ahead. But if you are behind, you are crushed.

this is very true and thats why your play here is highly depends on your opponent(s) and their hand ranges in this situation (ie. the way the hand played out up to this point) so without any more information about the type of players you are up against, the action preflop and on the flop, possibly previous history between you and your oppponent(s), stacksizes and position, there is no right or wrong answer.
Remember yourself that in poker there is never something you should "always" do.

For me though, the only time I would consider going allin on this flop is if you are against one loose player that will raise and call allin with any pair or any draw (ie. callingstation) and the reason for this is that a 4th diamond or an overcard to his possible pair of eights (like a king) coming on the turn might scare your opponent into folding or not calling a big bet so clearly the best play would be to go allin.
