WeedWhacker - From 0$ to ........ ?  +2
Hi everyone,

I am completely new at this site, and I am ready for my project. I have been browsing through the site and seen a couple of these projects, and a few bragging about how they have done it. Thought I could update you guys with my own little project if anyone is interested. I am not going to set any time limits, and I am not going to play like a maniac to build my bank roll. I might even go bust in a few days. I will however, try to update this often, and I will also try to post some interesting hands and so on, in order to improve my game.

MY BACKGROUND:

I used to play a lot of poker a couple of years ago, and things went pretty OK for a while. Unfortunately, this did not last and without any proper bankroll management, I almost went completely broke, and really hit the wall Aww crap! I love to play both ring games and tournaments, and I am not yet sure how I will proceed on this project.

------------
THE BEGINNING:

I have just registered at Cool Hand Poker (CHP) through BRM, registered yesterday in hope of getting the opportunity to join the BRM freeroll, but for some reason it was closed early. So not exactly off to a good start. I did, however, see that CHP had their own $100 freeroll at the same time, and not that many was registered for that, so I thought I could join that one instead. Around 350 players, and first 10 pays. A lot of players did not play, so I finished in 8th or 7th - US $2.24. I do not remember exactly how I went out, but pretty sure I had the best hand going in Tongue

14.02 - 09
I played a little bit of $0.02-$0.04 cash game later on and got up to around $10 pretty fast. I went out, and registered for a $5 sng and came in 3rd, so got $10 from that as well...

I registered for the $3 rebuy turbo, and am doing pretty OK for now on that one. The rest of the money, I had put in cash game, but managed to bust my roll. That's OK though, because the project doesnt start before I get my no deposit money from BRM.

I am going to play the daily $100 freeroll and the Ipod freeroll as well later on today.

The $3 rebuy turbo did not go that well unfortunately, tried to make a semi-move with two limpers at late position. Both players had been pretty passive, and after considering the range of hands, I thought that I would be ahead or at least 50/50 if I had a caller...

B1gfoot, thank you for the good luck, and pretty weird that you're bashing my post without knowing me, or knowing my reasons to put up the post....

intentcity4, no problems, I know how it feel, and glad you edited your post. My sincere condolances...

To the rest: There is a reason why I put up the post, and I am going to update it, as it is going to be my way of restraining myself from going insane on the tables Blink

If you dont like it, then dont read it - no reasons to flame the post. If you do like it on the other hand, give me a shout, as it will keep me motivated...

You went all in with kqo and 3 callers b4 you?(4 in play) your gonna have to play better than that.
Not bashing it just we see a lot off these posts, nice to see some one take it a little serious.

Well, in a 3r turbo, you kinda have to try to accumulate some chips, and like I said, I did not expect them all to fold, but the range of hands they could have, I saw it as good value for the money. Blinds were already 600-1200 and I had a stack of 12k in SB. 3 limpers in late position does not exactly indicate strong hands. They have been limping in with suited connectors and weak aces/kings/queens several times. I believe KQo has great value against 66 and 77 in that situation..

cool, but you have 10BB left to play with thats plenty at this stage. The all in was only worth it if you think you can take the pot, if expecting callers it became a coin flip that needent of happend.
I find at this stage of the game limpers hold value cards most ppl dont raise if they do its all in for the steal or min raise if BS to take blinds.(but if you know they are weak then go for it,but they just sound loose to me)
IMO shudda seen a flop.

hmm, in my opinion, your first mistake was assuming anything, (especialy when going all in), your second mistake was going all in in that situation without an ace, im to drunk t go into it now but that was a really really bad call, you could have seen a flop for the min, as i said, you"ll learn as you go, just a bad play, thats all.

Not sure if I agree here actually. I got less than 5M including the antes. The push was for value, and I believe I got the value I wanted. 12k to win 39k on a 40/60 should be +EV in the long run, or is my math way off here?

Why do I have to have an A to make that push? I would say it is worse to push with a weak A (because of the opportunity of being dominated), than with, lets say 78o or something like that. If you are behind, you want to keep your cards as live as possible?

I see were you are going..
not sure how to explain.
Sorry its shot, but cant talk EV against so many players.
Ill try explain better anouther time. GL.

UPDATE

Tried to get some funding today by playing two freerolls. None of them gave any results Sad The IPOD freeroll ended early, whilst in the $100 freeroll, I went out in 15th. Nothing special happened during those tourneys. My last hand:
Fold to me and I pushed with 44 in cut off, only to meet JJ on the button. My stack was short as h***, so I really had to push there... Guess I will have to wait for my no deposit money. Will try a couple of freerolls tomorrow as well...

i just meant if your going all in with a weak hand id prefer to wait till i had an ace, but hey, im a pretty s**t player, i just like to pretend i know what im talking about lol

Nice challenge WeedWhacker, its gonna be very hard to start with zero.
Its better to start with No Deposit Bonus for sure.
I like the fact that you dont have a time limit so go from $0 to ...... not in 1 month/1 year just a peroid you dont know yet.

Anyway... Goodluck and i hope you keep us updated Thumbs Up

UPDATE!

I GOT A BANKROLL! Not thanks to my excellent freeroll skills, but rather thanks to BRM No deposit on BWIN. Tried to play 4 freerolls at the same time yesterday, but couldnt concentrate with my computer, as I am currently playing from a laptop with crappy resoloution. It ended with me concentrating on the really nice value at BWIN, but ended at 15th place. Must admit that I played really poorly....

Anyway... I got a $25 bankroll from bwin, and I am going to play $5.50 1-table sngs tonight. Already played the first one and won that one, so off to a good start. Will update when I am done for the evening.

If anyone plays at bwin or the ongame network, my nick is WWhacker... I might play one multi tonight as well, depending on how well I do in the sngs..

very interesting, hope you'll win a lot of money Dollar Dollar Dollar and hope your system work, and i'll maybe try to do it myself

UPDATE!

I got a bankroll from Action Poker now as well, and have tried the software a little bit. Less players, but it seems like it might be a little bit easier to beat the levels there. I am not sure how the sng selection there is, but I am going to continue to explore the site.

When it comes to bwin, I am currently at around 80 dollars. Been playing a little bit cash game, but mostly 5$ single table sngs. I am not too satisfied with the results I am getting at the moment, and have to try to adjust my game a little bit. I might be a little bit too loose/aggressive in the early levels. I am fairly satisfied with my end game, as I got more wins than 2nd and 3rd combined, although the number of games is not nearly high enough to get the correct picture.

I am thinking of advancing to 10+1 as soon as I get to around $150 (if I ever make it) and scale down if I drop below $70. Any thoughts about what the bankroll should be before I advance in buy-in?
