When to show the cards  0
Most of the hands in poker don't reach showdown,so i always wonder when should u show your cards to your opponent, when u have nuts or when u have absolute nonsense cards?
And does it affect your game in anyway?

Poker is all about information. Why give some away for free? If opponents want to see my cards, they have to pay for that.

if i have a monster at the start of a high blind structure bubble ill show since im gonna be pushing more than anyone else. adds enough fear to steal the blinds

I would say never, but I'm jerking around with a certain guy at the table and I bluffed him, I might show him just once, to make him see even more red - just have to be careful he won't catch you in the next bluff Smile

In the past i used to show my giant bluffs to the opponents or the opposite, showing my moster hands. But now, honestly i think that the best choice is not showing our game never! This way you are sure that the opponent dont have a clue of your game! Smile

If showing your cards has some purpose in it then show but most of the time, 99.99+% no show from me.

Almost never.
"Want to see it? Pay for it. Even if you catch me bluffing you will see I have you beat most of the time I bet."
Exception is when you know you can tilt someone, or to advertise something. Like you are not getting paid when you have a hand, then bluff and show it.

i would also say never too, reason why I always choose the option of auto muck... I think online you should not show because it's the kind of info that you should not give opponents due to the fact you can't read opponents physically.

You will not get better showing people how you play when you have different hands so never show unless you are with friends or have the stone cold nuts ie Royal Flush (just for the hell of it)

I never use to show cards but there is a tutor called Todd Arnold who believes you should show cards in order to tell the table what to think of you.

This way you can establish an image quickly at a table and be more sure about how the other players see you at the table.

For instance in rebuy hour show plenty of bad cards, bluffs, and fishy bad plays, this way everyone will pay you off when you hit good hands and you can gamble up a big stack while you can still rebuy.

Conversely late in the torney when most people have 10-25BB and everyone has to do a bit of blind steeling in order to survive show your good hands " look I'm not stealing " and then you can get away with a bit of extra steeling with junk.

About 3 weeks ago I was running bad at the cash tables so I though I'd take a break and play some MTTs and adopt a policy of showing plenty of cards.

Over the last 3 weeks I have showed a ridiculously large number of cards and I have been killing the games doing way better than I've ever done before.

Sure I've been running fairly well too but I believe alot of my recent success has been due to showing cards. Now I know exactly what the table thinks of me. It makes others much easier to read and I can play my hands more optimally - losing less when I'm beat and winning more when I'm ahead. When I've needed a blind steal here and there I've usually got one through.

I can only encourage others to experiment with showing cards too. For something which most think off as a no-no in poker, showing selective cards seems to be a great tool that most people don't use.

Obviously mixing up your play is super important if you show alot of cards, but it seems to be something I'm quite good at. If you can do it too then showing a few cards and then playing off the image you've just set, can net you big chips.

Why should you are thinking to show the cards? Hmmm. Well since there is no need to show the cards then the cards just can be left alone for the next round. Smile
