Isnt it true that only 2-5% of players get the moolah?
95% of the money just keep passing from hand to hand...

(maybe Im wrong, slap me and post the true if so)

It was like that 10 years ago now the winning field is much wider.

Many of you criticized that I said if it was morally good to play poker. It think it is fun to play for small money, so that it really wont impact on someones life if he lost. But it easily starts small and gets bigger and bigger. Just like drugs...

Let me exaggarate a bit. You are playing headsup with big stakes. Other guy has all of his money, house and car on the table. And you know he is a lot worse player than you. Would you play, and if you won, would you be jumping for joy that you won his house, car and money?

For me it propably wouldn't give me much joy, knowing he lost everything. We have heard these stories many times. Some of these stories end up that the losing guy hangs himself.

I rather earn my money by honest work rather than luring fishes on pokertables.

Like poker isn't honest work Tongue Being a pokerplayer is as honest as being a stock trader or a salesman imo. Some people invest better than others but everyone knows with invest comes risc. A good pokerplayer sell bad odds or buy good odds for a living. Nothing shady about that.

I started playing poker over 2 years ago, playing more or less active. First I played some freerolls and won some bucks few times and went to a cash table and lost it all.

After a while I found these sites that give free bankrolls. My first bankrolls went away pretty quickly(some of the money went to casino), and then I requested some more.

My first Big win was on PKR. I played those phase tourneys where you climb up the levels. I got into final and I won it getting $700. That was a happy day. I cashed out most of it and played away the rest. I also cashed out on one site on P2P network for 400, on virgin I cashed 250 and on pokerstars I cashed $350.

I have mostly played tournaments, SnG and MTT. I liked MTTs because you can win big amount with a small investment.

I have deposited very little my own money in poker. And when I have, after the first bigger win I have cashed out at least the amount I deposited.

At first it was exciting to play poker. I wasn't playing it for money, I just liked to play. Ofcourse it was nice if I won, but that wasn't the point. But after some time, when I started winning, the winning aspect became bigger. I was thinking to get some rakeback deals, and looking for better bonuses. But more I tought of that, the less I enjoyed playing poker. I had some breaks and for a while it was interesting again.

I have also thought is it morally good to play poker. There is always some who is losing, and do I really want take someones money in a game that is partially based on luck. Some might say that it is their own decision to play and they should be ready to lose their money. But what if its not their decision and they are really hooked and in debts because of playing.

But here I am. I have won a bit over 1000. I don't enjoy playing poker too much anymore, but still I have some kind of urge to play. I believe I am a bit hooked. So I think it is better to stop playing poker. It takes so much time from my life and I should use it much wiser.

Probably you will be broke when you play on!

"My story is very similar to yours.. The more I think about, the more I hate taking money from people..Maybe I'll quit. I haven't played in a month and a half." - A lot of users are in the same sh.t.

You know its far to late now Cenccu, you have already ruined ppls lives, the ones who need it the most play the small games cause its worth more to them in exchange, no doubt you already put a few familys onto the cold streets. You have sold your sole to the devil and now there is no going back.

Aww crap!

LOL

@ OP - Look first and foremost, People have the choice to gamble and risk money in doing so to gain more money is what people do it for, so some idiot thinks he can gamble away his mortgage money.. why feel sorry for him/her.. personally im taking it all with a big grin on my face, thier lesson learn't.

personally i dont care where you have got your money from wether it be rent money drug money whore money robbed a bank ect if i can take it from you i will i wont bat an eyelid, i have no feelings (our lass tells me that!)

I have no sympathy for the tards that gamble money they dont have...ever

2. if you have lost the love for poker then a nice 4 week break is always good. I do this.
if you come back after this and still feel unhappy take a 8 week break and try again.

3. MTT play is a great of course but you will only cash in maybe 10% of your games
SnG games yes very good keep at one level Dont jump up and down levels this will affect your game

CASH GAMES FTW there is nothing more sexier than a cash game you can increase your BR on a decent fish/lag table with ease,

i now forgot what u actually posted so will leave it there..

WAIT

FORGET GOD HES BLOODY USELESS! dance wit the devil Big Smile

When Jesus was on the cross, there were two robbers there. Other one insulted Jesus like the soldiers, but the other one regretted what he was done and stood up for Jesus, and Jesus promised that he will get to paradise. It is all about the state of your heart, and he will know what your intentions are.

Im going to entertain you here,

Right this 'Jesus' is nothing more than a frabircated story as is god. you all read it in a book and proclaim its true. why?

if god has a book 'the bible' where is the devils book?

If there is such a ting as afterlife (heaven/hell) then eplain this.

God condems anyone whom sins correct? yet say your sorry and you wont go to hell, nah sorry its all rubbish.

deep thinking for early morning FTW

that you want to stop playing poker is something that is understandable but the reason why you want to give up playing poker sounds like a bad joke to me .

I know this isn't the best place to "preach", but I will try answer your questions. I am not saying I have the best information and I am not trying to judge you.

Yes, we can read about Jesus/God in the Bible, and there is a lot of information about the subject. You might ask why should I believe in something that you cant see. Well many people have got answers to their prayers and have had supernatural experiences. I have had some doubts about God also, but I had this wonderful experience when I was baptised. I was praying if this really is true, let the sky be cloudy and rainy on my day of baptism, and when I will be dipped in the water let the sun shine just a bit and then again let it rain. And that happened just as I asked. And another experience. My friends father got appendicitis, when he was on somekind of trip. It went bad and it bursted. There was a huge inflammation in his stomach and he didn't know if he will survive. He was in the hospital laying in bed having huge pain and he prayed for god to help. Soon he felt like somekind of hand grabbing his stomach and all his pain was gone. The doctors were amazed how this had happened.

About the devils book. Does he really need a separate "devils book" when we humans write all kind of filthy immoral books.

And yes, because of the sacrifice of Jesus bearing all our sins, we have the opportunity to receive the salvation.
