Tips/Advice for a kinda big mtt PLZ  0
Hey guys,i just logged onto bigbet and received 2 coupons for their 50 000$ guaranteed mtt(their biggest mtt).1 is for 6/9/2009 and the other 13/9/2009
Some info on it:
100$+9$ buy in
100-150 average players
atm there are 50 registered for tommorrow's 1 and top 10 get paid so im guessing for 100-150 players they will pay about 20-30 players
Starting stacks are 3000 and blinds increase every 15min
3 rebuys and 1 add-on per player allowed
(hope this is enough info)

O.K heres my problems lol
My biggest mtt i played was a 10$ freezeout which i completely sucked at cause i played SUPER tight, only played 3 hands and got knocked out by a really loose guy that hit his set vs my 2 pair...

So I got 2 chances at making my 1st big break in online poker and I would appreciate any help you guys can give me,i am a pretty good mtt player, its where i make most of my profit online and im mostly ITM but i would like to go for the win in 1 of them and the other just ITM would be fine with me.

I respect all you guys and have learned alot from the topics on this forum, but here i need some specific advice given the details i gave you

THANX ALOT in advance

don't want my advice - as I am a hard-luck learner....but one thing i noticed watching poker early in the tourny was the good players never went all in without having the nuts...not just a good hand....if it came to push and shove they would not do it unless they knew they had the best hand...for eg. i sae I saw mike the mouth fold a q high flush....he wouldn't call because it would have been to risky early in the tourny...

I've thought a bit... Wanted to come up with smth real clever. But nothing comes to my mind.
If you are an experienced mtt player you all know it yourself.
1) Concentrate. Lock out from all possible distractions.
2) Do not multitable
3) Observe other players. Especially betting patterns. Make notes.
4) While the blinds are low play only premium hands in a tight-aggressive manner. And sometimes play position. When blinds grow get more aggressive.
5) Don't chase the draws.

That's about all. Good luck. Let us know about your result..

Mike the Mouth just talks much and loud, but IMO he is one tight sonofabitch. I've seen him pushed off the winning hands by sheer aggression so many times. This is why he hates online players. They tend to be more aggressive than live players and he is scared shitless of them Big Smile

I guess it's gonna be though for you, because you aren't going to get neither a re-buy nor and add on. However, the structure looks pretty good. I'd try to play pretty tight and push hard only with premiuns pre-flop, hoping that table play losse due the re-buys.

Gl! I hope you cash big.

Thean, have you got 2x100$+9$ BI (as in you can use them both in 1 game)
Also how did you get them coupons, to" just logged onto bigbet and received 2 coupons for their 50 000$ guaranteed" seams a little to kind. are you sure its not a Sat. to the $109.

Nope 1 is for the 6th and the other for the 13th,its the date on the coupons, and it says entry fee only so i wont be able to rebuy or add-on(hopefully i wont need it...
I got them with their reward points,500 points for a shot to get a ticket to one of them and i bought 3 and was lucky to win in 2 of them...Its definitely a coupon to the event itself and not a satellite Thumbs Up @b1gfoot

Cool, the only problem i see you facing is the add on, lots of the players will add, but hopefully by then you will be ahed and wont need it.
Its going to be a long and fairly slow game, dont be hasty in anything you do, think befor every hand even if it obvious., notes, take lots of notes, avoid all distractions (phone etc) and think posative, most of all have fun.

Well,i ended up busto 138th place out of 432 players, payout starts with top 60...
It was not really my night,my highest chip count was just above 5500 and about after that it all went downhill, went card dead and the only cards worth playing never hit the board.
Got a bit of luck atleast just before i went out,was down to 300 and got a bit of luck and doubles to get back to 4000,but with blinds at 500 it was still a long mountain, ended with me on the button with AQ i shove and big blind with over 20000 insta calls with KK,flop xKx turn J (come on 10) Big Smile river useless A lol
All in all a gr8 tourney with not alot of guys actually rebuying and adding on,but there will always be a group of donks, they cost me alot when the blinds came in to play.

And unfortunately this was my only shot, support told me i had to choose between the 6th and 13th...

Thanx for you guys support and it was a great experience,my first REAL mtt you could say

BRM ftw!!Good night

If it's your first REAL MTT then finishing in the top ~3rd of the field isn't so bad.

Well done, keep at it.
