Jason Alexander is the very popular actor from the mega hit comedy series Seinfeld that few of you could have missed. But he will no longer only be known from this series as he has joined up with PokerStars.com and he is now a member of the Team PokerStars together with other well known faces like hockey player Mats Sundin and poker pro Daniel Negreanu.
As a part of his role as being an ambassador for PokerStars.com he will be playing live tournaments wearing PokerStars clothing and he will also be playing online at PokerStars under the alias J. Alexander.
"PokerStars has very graciously asked me to sign on as one of their official players. I am very flattered and happy to be playing for a real quality site and with the kind of professionals that remind me every day how truly mediocre I am at this game. But I'm learning. And now I can learn from some of the best," Alexander said.
Jason Alexander is not a newcomer to the game of poker as he has been playing a lot of land based tournaments the last year. Last year he played in the following land based events: NBC National Heads Up Poker Championship, Bravo's Celebrity Poker Showdown and he also played in the 2008 WSOP Main Event.
Pokerstars is really taking everything to their hands LOL, its the major site of Poker Online as far as I know, the Team has the best poker players you can find out there... Its pretty amazing I must say!
never seen seinfeld. is this guy even good lol ? or just a famous celebrity..? i mean that girl (katja tatja or whatever her name is) is also on team pokerstars but sorry sooks at poker in my opinion.
according to hendonmob he made the 10th place in a wsop charity event, i would say that doesn't really qualify him for sponsoring. but pokerstars is sponsoring many players that are well known, though being no great poker players.

Katja Tater is one of germanys finest poker players! Oo she is not a celebrity.
i have to admit here however that we have much less quality poker players then the USA, canada or great britain. the scandinavians also have more great poker players i guess. and the irish...
okok. maybe germany just sucks at poker... xD
however: nothing against Katja. i read some articles in magazines from her. she has style, charisma and plays some professional poker. =)
EDIT: i loled when Boris Becker joined Team PS tho. and this Seinfeld guy seems to be in there for promotion reasons mainly as well....
Looks like full tilt got all the poker players, so pokerstars is taking on actors to fill the void, jus anouther big sad joke, ok the guy can play a bit, but thats not why they want him. Lots of better players than him out ther LOTS, but none have a face on TV, bet he gets a better deal than most of the outher pros there too. Anouther one to just open tables join tourns then unreister i guess.

Naturely. He is a rep, he should bring in new players. There is little point in signing someone who is unknown outside the pokerworld.
By the way. Would Guy play on stars, all the "big" pros would follow.
I understand that, its a busniess. But it makes a mockery of the poker world. So what he has played a few WSOP, id play them too if I had his money. Now this chit poker player, and he is chit, is going to get loads of free advice and for what cus he was on TV, is that what poker is about now TV stars who cant play poker. And like GeneYuss said is Raymond next, hes playd a few WSOP. Lets drop all the real poker players who struggled to get were they are and playd the fields to earn respect and have TV stars instead. we can call it TVSTARS It a joke.

NO no not saying that, i play stars, what im saying is that there is a 1000s of outher POKER PLAYERS that deserve the spot. I think you missunderstand me compleatly. What im saying is Seinfeld is not there for his poker ability, just a random star who happens to play once in a blue moon, id say the same about any outher tv star that does not have poker credability. NoiQ has nothing to do with this nor any outher site. Yes its good they have fresh blood, but who wants to play a donk who is getting bankrolled. He is random, you think he would stand a chance if he wasent Seinfeld. Its Boris all over again. I have nothing agains Seinfeld himself, hes a great comedian.
I think it's smart of Pokerstars to hire spokesman that do other things. Cause they bring in hockey fans, Seinfield fans, soccer fans, etc. Same thing like when the UFC brought in Brock Lesnar from Wrestling.
