Yesterday the Main Event of EPT Deauville started. A remarkable field of 339 players took part in Day 1a of the tournament. The tournament organizers believe that Day 1b, which starts today, will see a bigger number of participants. In other words, it seems like there will be a huge prize pool this time.
Anyhow, even though Day 1a attracted a lot of players, there were not many familiar faces.
In the lead after Day 1a is Robert Cezarescu. He will bring 216,900 chips with him to Day 2 of the tournament. On 2nd and 3rd place are Vladimir Geschkenbein with 155,000 chips and Martin Kabrhel with 152,200 chips. 198 out of 339 players made it to Day 2 of the Main Event.
