PokerStars SuperStar Showdown: Haxton to play against Isildur1

Posted on 15 December 2010 by "T".

About a week ago, the world's largest poker site, PokerStars, announced that the mystery swede Isildur1 had joined its Team PokerStars Pro. PokerStars also announced that there would be a challenge called SuperStars Showdown in which any player could play against Isildur1. It didn't take long before someone accepted the challenge.

The player who will take on Isildur1 in the SuperStars Showdown is no one else than Isaac "philivey2694" Haxton. The list of Haxton's success online and live can be made long. For example, he was the runner-up in PokerStars Caribbean Adventure ($861,789) back in 2007, he has reached a few final tables at the WSOP and also been successful at PokerStars and Full Tilt's nosebleed tables.

SuperStar Showdown
The format of the SuperStar Showdown is very simple. On December 19 at 6pm ET, Isildur1 and Haxton will play four $50/$100 No Limit Holdem tables until they have played at least 2,500 hands. The winner will be the one who shows either a profit after 2,5000 hands, or win all of their opponent's match bankroll.

well, is there any side bet? Or what will win the winner? If one of them is in profit 1 dollar at the end, it is his only profit? Big Smile

50/100 , dnt they have higher tables at pokerstars?
this seems like a mini form of durrrr's challenge on fulltilt. at least this one will be over in 2500 hands
 ZmxPowah16/12/2010 00:34:40 GMT
PokerStars are smart.
50/100 it's great stakes for Isildur if they are giving him cash to play...
He can't loose to much in few hours so they can easy control it Tongue
 jovicakralj16/12/2010 05:36:40 GMT
I think this is very low stakes for Isudur. He is used to 10002000. There must be some kind of side bet here...
 Fackinas16/12/2010 12:19:28 GMT
I think winner will be not Isildur1 I like his aggressive game and style but Haxton will show his skill and will win against Isildur1 it will be funny to watch in youtube lol Tongue Maybe 1day I will watch it

NO there is no side bets, well none reported.
The thing I like is that this is 1 session..so no dragging it out or quitting on a bad run.
I can only assume that Haxton choose the limits, and $50/$100 is the lowest limits alloud in this contest.
I predict the winner will be Pokerstars.

mystery swede Isildur1 ?? what a kind of BS is this story of this "mystery" guy... he do not need to send his ID to Fulltilt and PS if he want to deposit or withdraw 100k?, I have when I want to withdraw 1k...

that shows, all fake stories, just promotion
 Fackinas17/12/2010 15:21:19 GMT
lol he sent but FTP support can not give person information ... you have not heard this? .. He played absolute poker too but all info about his name and etc are security .. so no one knows his name and this show that we are safe to Tongue

first in text is 2,500 hands and then is 2,5000 Big Smile !just joking, but this is very strange with this Isildur1 and just wondering till when they will silent about this guy!now they want just to people talk about him and watch how he play and to get more accounts on site!but when they give him money,it could be higher blinds!
 themole17/12/2010 18:58:36 GMT
i think this new challenge will be good to watch. anyone else thinking of trying to qualify for the mini version??
 BRADYboy18/12/2010 04:09:16 GMT
pokerstars are smart by signing him up as its bringing so much/many more players to the site and even players that used to play on f/tilt are now playing pokerstars also so its win-win for them and i think f/tilt made a blunder by not signing isildur1 up in 1st place and maybe regretting it now as e1 is wanting to see this mystery swede in action no matter who he is and its all win-win for p/stars!

 1Shot18/12/2010 18:27:21 GMT
isildur will probably lose.
 Cara7919/12/2010 11:26:31 GMT
I wonder where Isildur1 get his money from. He is already in red at Full Tilt and now he joins Team Pokerstars Pro. Well then, It is time for me to lose millions then I may join Team Pokerstars Pro.

 EimsbushKing19/12/2010 22:28:52 GMT

anyone watching them now? atm it looks like Isildur is crushing the Haxton, but the night is young lol

--------

isildur QQ, Haxton QJ

Isildur raises to 2200 Haxton goes all in preflop Isildur calls (pot 20k) - flop - 10-9-4- turn 5, river K - LOL

And now a quote from "hangover" - and then there were 2 guys in the wolfpack" Big Smile.
 themole20/12/2010 01:07:50 GMT
i can't find the games on stars.
 kinogomes20/12/2010 10:25:50 GMT
From what i saw in the first hour they where testing each other, it wasnt very sick, but today i checked some hands, haxton got a huge luckbox in some hands. I thought the swings would be higher anyway.

I saw that hand on some video - sick!
I was thinking Pokerstars are changing soft for Isildur so he can be winning player... they must switched by mistake.
 Dellbo9921/12/2010 05:49:51 GMT
Haxton won - if anyone didn't know - he won 40K over the 2500 hands

I do wonder if isildur will get feed up playing at such low stakes and wonder if PS will still allow him to play on FTP.
 DiedAngel23/12/2010 08:26:30 GMT
that is sick isildur is for me the better player Hexton like to much to risk with his hands
 B1gfoot23/12/2010 10:42:05 GMT
isildur1 is not happy about how it was won, now wants a re-match with 5k hands and higher stakes...I like isildur1, but this is his challange so he has no room to complain about how he lost, suck it it!
