Both starting days of the first ever EPT Loutraki main event are now in the books. In total, 102 players made it through Day 1a and 130 day 1b, which means that 232 players will return to play around noon today. The official prize pool and payout structure is still to be confirmed though. In the lead is Mario Puccini from Germany with 159k, and about 16k chips behind him is Team PokerStars Pro Tony Judet from Romania (both players from Day 1b). A few notables that survived day 1b: Johnny Lodden, Kevin MacPhee and Eugene Katchalov.

Kevin MacPhee is having a lot of activity last times, although I still haven’t heard of him winning any first prize lately. Can’t say if things are going good or bad for him… But after all, looks like this EPT had a good start. Don’t know the size of the beginning field but having 232 players in the second day, its because it was big. Lets wait and see if Mario Puccini handles the pressure of being leader at this time.

Katchalov is my favourite poker pro to win this prestigious tournament, he is all-round solid poker player in my opinion. I wish him luck.
