WSOP 2013: Event #62

wsopThis year's main event kicked off on Saturday with the first of three starting flights (1a, 1b & 1c). Day 1 A gathered close to a thousand players (943). There were a few known faces that was seated during the first day such as "Joe Cada, Pius Heinz, Olivier Busquet, Brian Rast, Justin Bonomo, Elio Fox and Ivan Demidov". However, none of them finished the day in top 10:

The second start flight had a higher number of participants when the 1,942 players sat down around the tables on Sunday. Day 1 B had no less than five former WSOP Main Event champions: Greg Raymer, Scotty Nguyen,  Doyle Brunson, Chris Moneymaker and Dan Harrington. Top 10 Chip Count:

Not as many top players names as we should have expected but still the competition seems to be pretty good and it will def be interesting to see how things will work out in the next days Smile

I think on this edition of WSOP we had tons of new names which is awesome!

I'd really like to see Doyle Brunson take another big one down. He's still in it and I hope he takes at the very least a top five out of it. I just wish there were more live coverage on these events so one could watch it on the tube.

More than 3,400 players registered for Day 1C of the Main Event making it the largest single day field in the tournament's history.A record-breaking 3,467 runner field helped push this year's Main Event total to 6,352 and the prizepool to $59,708,800, which means this year's winner will bank $8,359,531.
