$10,000,000 Guaranteed Main Event at 2014 PCA!

On Tuesday, the world's largests poker site announced that the 2014 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) will once again be played at Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas. The tournament will be run from January 5th until January 13th and consist of 39 events, including a $100,000 Super High Roller and a $25,500 High Roller. The biggest news though is that the Main Event will have a $10,000,000 guarantee!

This is the first time in PCA-history that the Main Event has a guarantee. Now, last year's Main Event saw a massive field of 987 players who created a prize pool of $9,573,900 (the 5th biggest PCA of all time), so it's very likely that the prize pool of the 2014 PCA Main Event will exceed $10 million! If you don't have $10,300 to participate in this tournament, then head over to PokerStars and check out its PCA satellites starting from as little as $1.10! Good luck!

Oh wowsers. $10M guaranteed, that's monster.

I can't help but feel OneDrop has had a huge ripple effect, tourney organisers are wanting to get more and more on the pool.

PCA is such a premier event - every big name will be there.

When I first hooked up on PokerStars about 3 years ago,...and when I didn't really know a lot about poker other than the basics, I stumbled my way through successive satellites to coming within a HAIR of winning a free package to this monster!

In the final I was in first place for much of the tourney,...and then made a few mistakes. Even after the mistakes, if I would have just keep folding instead of trying to make it back up, I would have had a package.

Hindsight is 20/20,...if I could relive that, I would have done thing differently! Oh well! Confused

well if you can make it past the donks or are willing to invest a few $ to enter thru the higher value qualifiers, then this is definately worth trying for, i tried a couple of 20$ events b4 but never quite got there mainly because i played like an idiot and should have thought about ICM more instead of trying to win with every good hand cos they dont hit the flop lots tut tut i play miles better now i learnt about bet sizing stack sizing and icm

Woulda been some experience.

To be honest you're essentially buying an experience - your chances of winning any money at all are slim as hell. The Moneymaker days are over. It's very rare now that someone really amateur takes any of these big titles anymore, bar perhaps the WSOP Main Event, which requires truckloads of luck.

Even if you didn't cash in that baby,...the week in Bahamas would have been JUST fine....

...a nice prize in itself... Smile Thumbs Up

Sure would be nice if this U.S.A. country would allow U.S. citizens to play on these sites again. I've just about thrown in the towel to on-line playing due to there being only a few for me to play at. The one's I do play at aren't by choice which takes away from the point. Good Luck to you all!

sweet prize-pool...10 mil, sound cool enough to sell my flat and go to the atlantis for a week or so...
@demodawggy - wow that's some experience, really impressed with your performance Thumbs Up just short, but still a great job Worship i would prolly bust my pc if i missed on the package in such manner

10m guaranteed is simply huge, i actually never heard that much money on another tournament or even close for that matter.

I guess now we should expect tons of action for the sattelites that will be available on stars for this event.

tournament prizes continue to be increasingly greater ... awesome.
i just think how many players will try to qualify by satellites, online ...

the Caribbean Adventure (PCA) is undoubtedly the best place to play, a paradise. we'll see how it goes this year in free tournaments pokerstars because as the article I have not 10,000. Surely this year spend the amount of the 10 million guaranteed. Someday I'll be there to participate in this event Smile

 kilak13/10/2013 02:11:48 GMT
Just 1 suckout in a satellite on pokerstars. Then go all in the 1st hand of the event in the Caribbean Adventure with 45 of spades and run into AA and KK and flop the nuts lol.

Just say you got a ticket to this event would you call an all in with KK 1st hand anyone?

This is a mind boggling amount of money. $10,000,000 guaranteed is crazy. I am going to play the satellites and hope for the best. See you in the Caribbean!! Seriously good luck to everyone but not if you are on my table!
 optimus715/11/2013 13:21:10 GMT
