A big congratulations to Andre Lettau, the winner of the richest Main Event (100th) in European Poker Tour history! Lettau, a 27-year-old online pro from Germany, entered the final table in the middle of the chip counts. After several hours of play, he the other two remaining players struck a deal (Hossein Ensan €652,667, Lettau €704,058 and Sam Phillips €1,021,275) that left €90,000 and the title to play for.

After Ensan (Day 6 [final table] chip leader) had been sent packing in third place, Phillips had a massive 5-1 chip deficit after doubling both of his opponents and losing a few other big pots. Despite the big difference in stack sizes the battle lasted for 141 hands and more than six hours of play.

Lettau had a 2-1 advantage when the final hand occurred. Phillips moved all in for his last 12 big blinds from the button holding 8Diamond7Diamond and Lettau called with KClub10Spade. The board ran out KDiamond5Spade2Heart9HeartKHeart, which locked up the win for Lettau!

In total, Lettau outlasted a field of 1,496 players over 6 days of play to nab the title, €794,058 and a luxury SLYDE watch!

You're a bit overreacting, the best player does far not always take the first place! He got more money and takes the second place!
