Vince Van Patten, an announcer for the World Poker Tour, who co-wrote and starred in an upcoming poker film.
After the movie Molly's Game that was released last year, poker fans have a new movie coming their way very soon and its main cast is the World Poker Tour's Vince Van Patten. According to IMDb.com, "Walk to Vegas" is based on a true story about Hollywood big shots who will bet on anything.
The film was written by Van Patten himself and Steve Alper. It was directed by Eric Balfour who has also starred in films like Skyline and Hell Ride.
Van Patten is the main character in the film named Duke, and with him are a talented cast including the likes of John O'Hurley, Willie Garson and Danny Pardo. In the film, other known poker players will appear like Phil Laak, Antonio Esfandiari, Mike Sexton and Jennifer Tilly.
According to the Walk to Vegas website, Emmy award winner Eileen Davidson (Van Patten's wife) encouraged him to make the movie saying, "Everybody loves movies about Hollywood. You've got to write your story... and oh yeah, I'd better play your wife or else."
The site also divulged that Van Patten's long-time employer, the WPT, co-produced the film and plans to market it to their poker audience.
Filmed in 2017, Van Patten said on Twitter in July 17 that he hopes it will be released later this year, "Just finishing post on it now. Looking to get it out in about six months from now."
