When QPR was about to start their Championship campaign last year their combined wage costs were higher than teams such as Dortmund and Atletico Madrid. They did their best to cut the spending by selling and loaning out a number of players at the same time as they tried to build a team that could bounce back to the Premier League straight as soon as possible. After finishing fourth in the table they won their playoff semi-finals against Wigan and eventually the final against Derby after a stoppage time winner from Bobby Zamora. So after only one year away the R’s are back were back in the top flight again.
