Mr Green, the Swedish iGaming brand is celebrating its 10th anniversary, with MRG group CEO Per Norman saying that it still remains the ‘flagship’ for the company.
The most famous brand among casino gamblers in Germany, Mr Green was put up by three Swedish IT entrepreneurs thinking of what could be a memorable and powerful name for a new gaming site they’re making that would be best associated with responsible gaming.
Mr Green is the 5th most well-known brand in Sweden, while it is the 3rd well-known in Austria. In Finland, it is ranked 3rd, and in Norway it is ranked 4th.
Mr Green was one of the first websites ever to allow players to set their own limits, and since then, the foundation of Green Gaming has been a principal aspect within their business strategy. In May 2018, the group had rebranded as MRG.
Norman said, “Mr Green is of course still our flagship. We are now working with two global brands in parallel – Mr Green and Redbet, which we bought in the beginning of the year from the Bonnier Group. MRG is today a fast-growing igaming Group with 187,000 customers in 13 markets and is still what is was at its foundation ten years ago –an innovative, digital fast-growing group.”
In the beginning, Mr Green only offered casino games via Mr Green Casino. As of today, the site offers sports betting as well.
MRG was founded in 2007. The group had a revenue of SEK 1,192 million in 2017 and provides jobs for 300 employees.
