International Game Technology (IGT) announced on Thursday, March 16, that their Wheel of Fortune slots awarded two $3 million plus jackpots in February - a total of $6.5 million combined. Also on the same month, IGT's Powerbucks slot paid out a jackpot prize that reached over $1 million.
The jackpots were:
- February 4 - a player won $3,257,830 from Wheel of Fortune Gold Spin Triple Gold at the Bellagio in Las Vegas.
- February 18 - a player won $3,274,538 from Wheel of Fortune High Roller at Carson Valley Inn in Minden, Nevada.
- Additionally, on February 28, a player in Ontario, Canada managed to win CAD 1,320,483 ($962,625) from Gong Xi Fa Cai, an online Powerbucks slot.
Since its 2016 debut in Canada, IGT Powerbucks slots have paid 47 jackpots worth $1 million or more, according to the company. Meanwhile, Wheel of Fortune slots have made over 1,100 millionaires and awarded more than $3.4 billion in jackpots since its launch in 1996. In January 2023, IGT's Powerbucks and Wheel of Fortune slots have awarded million-dollar-plus jackpots to two lucky Ontario players.
The Wheel of Fortune slot was inspired by the popular Wheel of Fortune television program, enjoyed by over 25 million weekly viewers. Trademarked as America's game, Wheel of Fortune won seven Emmy Awards, including a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Game/Audience Participation Show.
It has been a delightful few days for the Wheel of Fortune slots brand. Earlier this month, sports betting and iGaming operator BetMGM released a brand new Wheel of Fortune Online Casino, in collaboration with IGT. It has been named as "the first brand-led online casino in North America." The casino, now live in New Jersey, is home to Wheel of Fortune slot titles along with additional themed games.
