Time to try something new, that's been in the pipeline for some time now.
We increased the "points per post" back to 10 points for a post/thread and 5 points for a post/thread in Off-Topic. (This is just to test, we WILL decrease it again if it's still being abused).
But in order to prevent abuse, we also limit the amount of posts a day that will be paid, to 5. If you make 10 posts in one day, all more than 100 characters, then you will only receive points for 5 of them.
If you make 10 posts in one day but only 3 of them more than 100 characters, then you will receive points for 3 of them.
I hope it's easy to understand
And as always - we reserve the right to change the system etc., whenever we see fit
One more thing - before the "whining" starts, remember to calculate how many days you have been here (is in your forum profile, the exact date of signup), divided by the amount of posts you have, to get the average per day.
So for me, it would be around 1770 posts / 210 days = 8,4 posts a day on average. Lets say that all my posts contains more than 100 characters (highly unlikely), then before I would be paid 8,4 posts * 8 points = 67 points a day. Where now it would be 5 posts * 10 points = 50 points a day. Not a very big difference. And remember that only a very few people actually have such a high "average posts per day" as 8,4 !! Keep that in mind

Yes on average. But like I said if you post 10 one day and 0 next day it's a decrease in points but since you ignored it I guess you'll stick to the average theory. 10 post one day 0 post next day gives point for 5 post even though you made 10, so this is 50% decrease minus the increase in points pr post.
I mean some days you don't use the forum at all and other days you might be here for hours, depending on interesting post's and time availability.

That's correct M3, but right now we've decided to try this out and see how it works At least, free peanuts are still better than the ones you pay for, right?
------------ It's not unlikely that we will change it so that people with more than XXX posts will be able to have maybe 20 paid posts a day. Or VIP members etc. Lots of options.

@Admin Yes ofcourse, I don't know any other forum that rewards their users for posting which in most cases is done to get better at game or to get some questions answered. So no matter what
It was just the "whining" part of your post I had to comment.

FakeID, Unfortunately the system does not work like that. It checks whether or not you have been paid 5 times in the last 24 hours for a post. It's very rare that peoples post gets deleted, so that's just something you have to live with.

I hope this decreases the amount of posts to more quality. By the way, give "whiners" some warnings or 1 day bans, they are starting to get on my nerves to an extent that I do not even want to visit the forum anymore

sounds like a pretty good system to me. i am not around that long in the forums so i don't know how it was 2 or 3 month ago but maybe i will now see it the good old days with this new restrictions

padod i've found a way to beat the system of spamming. It's called REPORT BUTTON! If people started posting like you just did, they'd get banned/posting privileges removed very quickly in my opinion.
admin, I think this system will be efficient as most of the people that have lately been postin 100 posts a day will slow down and make the forum more readable.
------------------------------ Edit: The impression I am getting from users is that they would not post here if they weren't rewarded by points . That is quite sad in my opinion as I thought we were all about being a community rather than money/point hungry whores

the decicion is very good because someones spam so much and if someone makes a thread and (makes it very good thread makes it like 4hours) it sucks because the vanishes because spammers put the thead down.

WOW, this is nice. at least this will make sure that people who still posts in here is not much interested in earning but to help and keep the community active, its so sad that we've come to this point regarding the points as it was being abused.

hey admin what do you think about doing (10*7=70) so doing 70 posts a week that you can get paid for instead of doing a 5 a day max for people like M3 was saying.. that way its evened out a little?

Yeah I think 7 would be fine. might increase the longer you are with BRM. anyway they're still evaluating this 5 point per post thingy so it will still change, and also, there are now less annoyance in the forums

i think that this is the best solution to the problem of people just spamming everywhere, if you just lowered the value of each of the posts you could easily just get more spam in the forum, not less.
On ways to allow people to post more than 5 per day, maybe you could just add one post on to the daily allowance for every month that someone has been a member, so that after being a member for a year you can post 17 times a day or wahtever,

That is the best one ive heard SCDossett, best way is to give people MAX 5 posts per day allowed to post and to cope with probability of not being able to post when you want to BRM could use negative balance giving you the credit for 5more posts which are taken on loan from next day amount. That way if someone have need to post 10 posts in one day he could easily do that and 5 posts per day would still be respected (sorry but i couldnot think of the right word). Or if that is not satisfactory maybe 2 day loan, but definitely loan not increasing the amount of posts. I too dont post more than 1 posts when i dont have nothing to say, some threads i read but dont post etc., while occasionally there are actually many threads i would like to comment.

im2good4u, It looks like you were already paid for 5 or 6 posts within the past 24 hours of when you made the last 2 posts in this thread. That's why those 2 were not paid for. Right now it looks like the last time you were paid, was 23 hours ago, so that's 1 paid post within the past 24 hours. If you make 4 eligble posts now, you should be paid.
SCDosset, Good suggestion. Will keep that in mind for when we will change it again. Also xxxitalia's suggestion is not bad. But that would still allow for one guy to do 70 posts in a row, making 700 points. Then wait one week and do it again. After about a month he will have 5000 points and $50 (if he referers a few players as well).

I see. so the new rule started way before, i though that the new rule would be implemented during the following day which was at 00:00 GMT. Let's see now.
