I did hear some news a while back if I remember rugbt, and this is not always right since my memory isn't getting younger with time, I believe that computers are capable of beating human players in any game, it is just when and not if.

Hey pinotte. Was actually watching some of the heads up battles on twitchtv.com between libratus and the Jason les the pro. Interesting but in the end the players i think end up coming out on top more.

The results i posted are coning from twitch and libratus is well over the four players.

You probably are talking about the first bot created by the same University with the name of Claudico who lost against humans.

I really don't know why i got a minus on this post but really don't care if it make you feel good giving minus just do it. Big Smile Big Smile Big Smile

Never heard of it.
I gad heard of another such test in the past, with not good results.
This one seems to do very well, winning with all players from what i can see in the screenshot.
I wonder if there is a good program as this operating right now in some of the poker sites Smile

didnt know of this one. a couple years ago there was a AI website where you could play it in chess to help it learn.

AI is nowhere near beating NL holdem... actualy any NL poker game... but in limit holdem, I think they will soon make boot that can beat human... but in NL they are too far away....

It seems soon come to an end in the terminator ... computers are getting smarter and smarter ... even in such an unpredictable game of poker as the computer seems to win from living players .. All this leads to sad thoughts

Its humans playing poker. Its also humans designing the software.
If they can make a bot that can adapt differently in each game, its game over Smile
The only distinction between the two, will be the human emotion, while playing the game.

actually it's no big secret in tech world that AI is coming after YOU. it doesn't really matter which industry you are working in, what services, products you are using, one day- and it seems that day is not too far away AI is gonna surround us from from out toes and a*****e right to out scalps. and yes it will beat the crap out of nl holdem players too.

I said that computer is capable of beating players and it turned out right this time and it will be happening in the future, simply computer programs have so mamy data and they can use this data to make very good moves in all situations and players make simple mistakes sometimes and this makes them lose.

Pretty much when they are making a program like this, they incorporate in the use
of statistics.
So every time a hand goes in show down, the program keeps a history.
Like using a poker tracker. At least this is my guess Smile in order to make it more accurate.

Artificial intelligence is everywhere. Driverless cars on the roads, robotic vacuums, Google Home, AlphaGo, Libratus, etc. How artificial intelligence will affect our lives in the next 15 years, positively or negatively?

nice link there StheP- most important thing i found out watching the video is that "the bot fcukinly bluffs" that's scary... and the general impression from the players really didn't surprise me, they all agreed that libratus is really tough, like really really tough, and we have to understand that this is the 1st foray of AI into nl holdem, so they will only get tougher/ better programmed... better just stick to small stakes online poker and move over to playing higher stakes in live casino/ live tournaments.

What they are saying in the video is, that the the bot is adjusting its strategy every day,
even bluffing Smile
How can you beat something like this, when you are just a human.
And yet we havent seen anything yet.
Imagine what will come out in a few years, regarding AI.

I too watched the video that was given in the link by StheP and it was fun to hear what poker pros had to say about their battle with computer, all of them confirmed that this AI program was very tough to beat, and that is just what i believe in first, computers will beat himans in any game.
