10k for a seat and the last player at the final table barely made it out with more than double his buy-in for the event?
The prizepool was 100k short on all the collective buy-ins from all participants?
lmao WSOP is robbin' these guys blind... Congrats to Ivey, I guess.

I guess not a very popular format Smile

Phil Ivey has been considered perhaps the greatest living player for 20 years and now, thanks to his 11th bracelet, he surpasses Johnny Chan, Erik Seidel and the late Doyle Brunson and moves into second place on the all-time rankings. Phil Hellmuth leads the pack, with 17 bracelets to his name.

$45 million dollars winnings , wow , he is one of the top players worldwide for sure still . It's says in the article that now that he is a family member he can't play as much as in the past . Totally rational . He doesn't need to play to earn a fortune , he has already done it , he hasoney ,connections , big sponsors , he is still one of the big na.rs . So no need to worry for money and play like in the past . Also another is the age . We don't have the same energy at the age of 50 like the one we had at the age of 20 or 30 .

You see winnings, what about how much he lost!?

Yeah .. that is absolutely true . But it apies to everyone , especially the bigger names in poker . Cause these stars have the pressure to show good results in order to get famous , get recognition .
Sponsors help on that cause . If they pay you let's say 30% or 50% or even more of your total buy ins , if they pay your biggest games like the 10K main event wsop , that's a great help right ??

We also see this online , with some streamers especially . We watch their big wins in high rollers , in 530$ or $1050 or 5k or 10k games . We don't see their losses . Lex Veldhuis hides his PokerStars shark scope profile . He gets many 5k or 10k free tickets from PokerStars . Without this help , would they have the same success ?? Would they have been able to play as Recklessly as they play now ??

Spraggy ,another PS streamer star , also showed months ago his total winnings minus losses and buy ins . He was just breaking even . Lol . Btw every time I watch his stream I watch him playing expensive games but rarely he wins .

2 totally different things ?? Why ??

I say that sponsors help live star players like hellmuth or ivey and many other online star poker players like lex Veldhuis , play many expensive games with many bullets . So that helps them win more bracelets or trophies .

Ofcourse I don't speak for everyone , but for many of them

Also Phil hellmuth is a guy who plays a lot with sponsors help and he plays with specific strategy . I believe many of his bracelets have been won by this way

On the other hand players like Phil Ivey , use more their skills rather than the many bullets or sponsors'' money . So his bracelets in my eyes worth more than Helmuth's ones . If there was justice in online poker Ivey would be number one . Helmuth second , third , but not number one . That's My belief . Not that he is not good , but he is not so much good to be number one . The guys right after him in the bracelets' leaderboard play or used to play better imo

How nice to see news like this, this player is very good and has been playing at the highest level for many years, it was already taking him a while to win titles, and this time he was able to do it, Phil Ivey won his eleventh WSOP bracelet, collecting $347,440 in Event #29 Limit 2-7 $10,000 Triple Draw Championship.
