Outs and Odds   -1
raws, or drawing hands are incomplete hands which have to be complemented by another community card so that they can be defined as a made hand. The strategy from the beginner section hasn't clearly defined how to handle these kinds of hands yet.

In this article you'll learn the mathematical basis of poker. You'll learn how to figure out the winning percentages of your draw and how to determine whether it's profitable to play the hand.

The article is based upon the explanation of three central terms:

* Outs

Outs are all the cards which can improve your hand.
* Odds

Odds show how likely it is that one of the upcoming community cards is one of your outs.
* Pot Odds

Pot Odds express the relationship between the possible profit and the bet which you have to put in. In a way, they represent the risk-reward-ratio. If they are compared with the odds, it is possible to say to what extent it is worth to call a bet in order to complete your draw.

Why have you copied and pasted this into a thread? Firstly you should always credit any quote to the original writer. Say where you got it from. Secondly this is clearly just the introduction to the article and doesn't actually help anyone. And finally this is so basic it's hard to imagine any poker player who needs to read this here.

While there's nothing wrong with posting helpful articles or starting a discussion on such an article, this is really a wasted thread unless you wish to discuss something relevant to pot odds or calculated odds. In which case you should add your own thoughts, questions etc.
