Basically i have been playing poker seriously since June and have got my BR from round $250/$300 (june) to $2450 (present)
and i feel like i am definately a winning poker player, so should i continue with Uni (2nd yr) which may be a waste of time and just play poker with what ever time i have available or go full time with poker which i thoroughly enjoy Happy and just f**k the education off?
Some feedback would be cool, especially if u have been in a similar position....

I would post in that thread:
Wow you won that much over 5 months??!! You are a real pro now! Ditch the education you've no need for it if you can make $400 a month, you could live like a king at home with mummy :O
University is not waste of time. You can have bad luck and loose all your money at the poker platform but if you graduate your university you will never loose this. Wish you the best!

Should finish uni so you have a degree. should you ever wish to not play poker as full time then you'll have plenty of other options to choose from in future. Keep those doors open!

definatly university - not a waste of time at all. except the job your gonna choose has no future ? you still can make some nice money by playin poker as hobby like now...even if you have less time. after your done with Uni you still can choose to play fulltimepoker - but the more important is, you can choose between poker and probably a good and safe job. you got a young daughter. what if you one day get bored of poker or its simply not running well ? gettin sick/accident etc...dont think PKR is gonna pay your insurance/bills. with a good education your always on the safe side imo.
edit: oh wait...thats not you lol. i wonder why you go to Uni at a age of 40

Well on the one hand if he doesn't like uni and spends all his time playing poker he might fail anyway. Then he's in debt for no reason and wasted his time. Lots of people go to university because they feel pressured into it. They feel it's something they have to cos everyone else is and it was just expected of them.
I love university. The debt for me is no problem since you only pay it back when you get a high payed job. I think it's the best years of your life and offers you a great experience. Many employers will employ any graduate regardless of their degree scheme cos it shows life skills. I think all my friends who didn't go will miss out and I know many people who regret not going including my father who's now going to uni for the first time at 45.
This guy is possibly making the biggest mistake of his life. There's no guarantee that earning a few hundred a month will turn into thousands if you throw more time at the game. If he's as good as he thinks he is, he can carry on earning money on the side to pay his way through uni, but there is no point staking his entire future on it.

SO stupid, I managed to get my 0,10$ into 550$ in 4 months time, luckely I didn't drop out because I lost 3/4 of that in 3 months. I think if he's that's stupid of even considering dropping out, he won't listen to anyone and probably learn the very hard way.

Let me say that i considered this guy stupid just because of the final question he makes. If you consider his achievment, perhaps we can say he is a fine player who can make it the best way, but, of course, that would never be enough to win so he should never put his studies in question. This just shows he's gotta be a 17 year old kid thinking in the pink future.

I voted "stupid" basically because I think, poker winnings or not, anyone who say; Should I "just f**k the education off?" and don't follow that up by saying "since I just won $5 mill. on the lottary and I'm going to hire a really good investment manager." should be b**tch slapped around till he snaps out of it. That aside, one question; how impressive is it to go from $300 to $2500 in 4-5 months anyway? I'm thinking it's harder to get from $30 to $250 or even from $3 to $25 in that time...?

It is stupid thinking that only because someone went good on poker that he could live only with poker! There are some people that can do taht it is true! But they are the exceptions. And they are indeed great players that know when they should stop!

Can't believe someone can be so stupid to think of dropping studies because he won some money in poker and that too only 500$ per month. he needs a serious reality check. Think he'll come back to his senses once he goes to upper limits and has a downswing.
