Things went very well, and as my "normal" profession was effected by the crises, I am working less and playing more poker... I never read a book or similar about poker, just made my own observations. I was playing mtt 5-20$ mainly, and BR was good, roi over 50 %, itm over 20 %, after winning even some turnaments with more than 1.000 players, I was feeling prepared for bigger stuff, made in Sept. 08 also nice winnings at cash tables NL50, and went to NL100 and NL200. Made a withdraw, and started to play higher limits, 50, 100 up to 215 $ (sunday million on stars) direct buyin. Oct. 2009, with about 2.200 games on the graph...
and poker has shown me, what variance is.... just few bad beats - no itm in the bigger turnaments, losing the big pots on the higher cash limit, and BR melt away... My first real downswing... wow
With no BR and no ideia what to improve I restarted everything, had 30$ left on bwin, 20 on stars, and in Dec.08 i joinded also BRM and got the titan and action ND bonus (went not bad there, but for what reason ever could not take it serious and burnt the 2 BR soon), so I started again to grind on 2$ DoNs on bwin, and come up soon to BR 200$, so I was able to start mtt again.
So I ended 2008 with a total profit of about $ 5.000 (winnings and bonus/rakeback), with 19% itm and Roi 16 % and was with this within the top1% players on ongame... not bad for the first year of online poker.
I learnt mainly
- the value of the holecards - to wait of the errors of the opponents - and BankRoll Management - and if you call with oesd or flushdraw, you will lose at 2/3 of the cases

Nice story, nice graph, intresting... I kinda do the same, but only grind the DoNs $10/$20, wot givs me a nice BR so far. Also did some sample size MTT with 170% ROI which is problably a littl too high due too a short sample size (300 games). But i know for sure i can make more money with MTT versus SNG, so now maybe have to make the step from SNG ----> MTT.

2009
thing continued very well on bwin, mtt winnings , a little bit cash, a lot of dons for bonus/rakeback, made in the first 6 month about 6.500 $ there, mtt ABI 11, Roi 43 % itm 22 %. Total until now, i made about 3700 mtt and 6300 sng on bwin... so i think I have seen some hands already. Then I think in June, bwin/ongame came up with a new software, new design and I stopped to play there. How a big company like this can make a sh.... software, that does not improve nothing, brings every computer to the limit of the cpu and has black cards on a black table... omg Nothing was going, server was down all time, and the situations mantains until now
So I withdraw all money there and started to search for a new home. First stop was Party, as players seem there very , letz say soft... but after problems with the initial bonus (not by BRM) that they did not give me without reason I left after few games, and 15 $ profit
I went to Fulltilt, with a new Ideia, to improve my grinding... low limit sng, the matrix format was very attractive for that. 10$ and 20 $ matrix, means 2,5$ and 5$ sng, very soft and weak players. and the start was perfect, going up very easy with the BR, I have never seen so bad players before (just one - me at the first days online....) calling everything with nothing. But passing the SNG Roi of 20, from one moment to the other no hand was good anymore. In one session, I had 26 x KK, lost pre all in against Ace/small 8 von 9 times... ev: winning 6 von 9 times, run 4 times against AA, ev: 1 time. of course, variance, of course... the numbers of games (sng only on fulltilt ) must be seen 4x, as the graph just take every matrix as one, but 1 matrix = 4 sng. After investigation and speaking with a lot of other players, I came for me to the conclusion: Fulltilt has a DonksupportRNG at least on the low limit games, until now I did not found no one single player who was able to win on low limit sngs constantly. on every other page you will find this grinders, with nice graphs, only on fulltilt not... speaking about sng and or matrix, 1 - 5 $ So, I am not one of the persons, complaining about rigged online poker, because I am losing all the time.... after more than 1 Mio. hands playes I have some ideas what is going on...
So that was the reason, I stopped to play there again and started with the BankRollBuilder here from BBP, to try to grind - and surprise, here it worked... playing some mtt on PStars ..
In June2009 I also started to play first time offline, in Austria, nice choice of card casinos there...
even if I would consider me more a good mtt player than a average cash player, I was able to make 6 x profit on NL200 table at 6 sessions... not much, but played 2 mtt but no sucess. In Sept. 09 I went back to Austria, 9 days,w as playing 6 small mtt (buyin 20-40Euros, 60 - 90 players) and was able to 1 win alone, 1 win with deal, one 4th place... wow cash, 4 sessions, 2 winning, 2 losing
there the idea was born, I have to go to Vegas. So I decided, reaching 2.000 $ at BBP, I go VEGAS... letz go Party, letz go Poker
Posted by ih8usukouts: I just returned from a trip from Vegas. The weather was sunny and around 85 the entire time. There are plenty of casino's that offer daily NL tourneys averaging from $45 to $65 buy in. I do have some tips if you are interested. I can tell you about travel, food, casino's, etc. The night life is great if you are single and like to hit the club. The are plenty of beautiful woman, sorry can't help you out if you look in the other direction. Cab fare will run you about $35 - $45 round trip depending on how far you go. Or just get a 3 day bus pass ($15) and ride the bus as much as you want for 3 days. Food, expect to spend around $100/day. Great time tho, I recommend going to anyone if they get the chance
Did u play any tours? And ifso cud u giv us ur story i am intrested
------------------ No, unfortuanately I didn't play anything at all. Not even on my laptop back in the hotel room. I got married, so between friends, family, and a 4 year old I didn't have the time. Believe me, I did check out what the poker rooms were about. I needed more free time. I have gone several times in the past and played at the cash tables, never done a live tourney cause they take a bit of time. One thing I did like about the hotel I was at, you could turn the TV on and they had several channels on poker cash tables and tourneys. You could see how many people were in line waiting for what table and who was registered. Kind of a cool deal if you know what I mean. It similar to how you could view an online poker game.

Posted by ih8usukouts: Where will you be staying at in Vegas?
Our base will be for the first days the Imperial Palace, cheap and I think, the best location to reach everything.
But there are so many interesting spots, like the Hardrock Hotel, but seems too expansive and not good location... and of course, the Hooters Hotel *yummie* seems to be economic... but maybe it is too hard to see 24 h all this hooter girlz and you can not eat... or if, maybe then it is not economic anymore So for the rest we are still not sure what to do, definitly we want to chance 1-2 times the hotel to make most experience possible...
@doomdy I was at the Tropicana this time, for a vacation with a kid and GF, overall it was a pretty good place. It has a free show out in front of the hotel and is located in a pretty good spot if you want to do family stuff and play some poker for yourself. They run daily tourneys so you will be glad to be able to go downstairs and join for a decent buy in. The pool party on the weekend was fun, it had a DJ with girls dancing in bikini's, but was still done in good taste. The Mandalay Bar and Circus Circus has stuff for kids to do also. @Aggro Check around and see what places are offering tourneys and room specials since it seems you are going to be going just to strictly play and have fun. Look into the rewards each casino/hotel has because you can probably stay some nights for free if you play enough. If you go with some friends you can get a few nights compt to you and then your friend could get the room and do the same. The Hardrock pool party is a step up from the others. Lot's of great looking woman with plenty of boob jobs running around. But if you go in Feb it's hard to say if that will be going on tho. Food and transportation will cost you, but if you look around alot of places give discounts. Grab coupon books when you get there and take advantage of them. Plus, casino's give out $10 to $50 in free slot/video poker play just for signing up. Take advantage of that if you want to have some drinks. All you have to do is be playing and the drinks are free.

Vegas here i come
I am a little bit disappointed with smaller turnaments in Vegas, found out, that they take fees between 20 - 35 % , eg. 40 $ buyin, 15 $ fee... , makes it not really easy, if you start with a Roi of - 35% before the 1st hand has been dealt
even if they offer free drinks - most2 important rules - for poker and party
Never play poker and drink! Never play with an ugly girl and dont drink!
Even that I think, WSOP is the worsest time to play Poker in Vegas - too many good players around , it is for sure a very interesting time there... if things are going very well in Feb/March, I will be back there for WSOP ... *dreaming*
