I'd like to consider myself a winner, but, my losses are quite large as of now. I have had swings, as everyone does, but in the past month, I went from a BR in excess of 7500, to 0. 90% of the losing came when I had the best of it, and got sucked out on. My largest loss came three nights ago, playing Poker Stars, I was on tilt, playing way above my means at 6 handed 5-10 table. I bought in for my last 900, was up to around 2600, playing small ball, involved in a bunch of small hands. When I catch Aces.
The player two seats to my right, would raise my BB EVERY HAND, regardless of cards. He raised my BB to 100 preflop. I was sitting pretty with AA in my hands and decided to fight back. (up until this point, I had not raised more than 2 1/2 the BB, nor re raised preflop), so I decided to re raise to 300, he calls, flop comes AS,8D,KH. I decided to check to trap this over aggressive player, he falls for it and pushes all in for 3k (he has me more than covered.)
I insta call, he is holding 7D-2D. the pot is just over 5 k.
So I have AA, Fop is AS, 8D, KH, turn comes QD, river, of course is 3D.
I have two questions....
1. What SHOULD I have done there against the over aggressive player. 2. What would prompt a person to risk 3k with 7 high.

Well this is the biggest lod of spoof I've heard in a long while. It is the most perfect suck out you could think of. AA vs 72 and flopping aset as well and you still lose. . . right

That is one hell of a bad beat! But to be honest, I tend to lose with AA more often than winning with it. It doesn't surprise me anymore when I lose with it. But it's a hand you always need to play, and hard too.. You didn't do anything wrong, but you just got screwed by the game. sucks man! good luck building a new BR.

You played the hand really well, nothing to say about that. You only make one BIG mistake: You played out of your bank. Bankroll management exists for a reason and not because someone wanted to make the game more difficult. A winning poker player knows that when he plays hand where he's favorite, let's say 98%, he will win 98 times and lose 2. That's why a player should never bet all his bank in a hand like this. He will lose everything at some point.

yea i think its the game.. hes lucky to get the flush really.. have play before 2 cards of same suit and total 4 after flop but it never made to flush even after 3 more cards.. it really is lucky he got that pot.. he would have lost it though

You played it well, and had him bluff with an all-in. Theres hardly anything else you could have done. you went in with the best hand but lost because of variance. You should just hope people continue to play like this vs you. You'll profit from this in the long run
wow now thats a hell of a way to get beat. I mean ive been running into cooler after cooler all night long, set of 4's got it all in on the flop against an overpar, he catches miracle 2 outer to stack me off lol. And its all been pretty bad all night long, but luckily i dropped a stake level after the beatings i was taking & havent lost too much... u seem to have done the opposite, & put it all on 1 table, that wasnt the smartest thing to do. Without Bankroll managment... =

No offence, but how can you call yourself a winning player, when ur busto? You should better start using a proper Bankrollmanagement and stop tilting.

You played the hand exactly like I would have done. If that is a good thing, I don't know. But I am a winning player. (Although on a lewel far under the one your playing at.)
As to your second question, why does a person risk that much money, with seven high? I can only answer: retardment.
I feel for you, I got AA once and KK once last night, lured inferior hands all in pre with both of them, and got drawn out on in both cases. One by a two-outer on the river, and one dude getting a straight with A5o...
