Hi mobsters, cos many paople making useless polls lately i gonna add also 1 Its about Rolls for Pro (semi-pro) Players and average grinding money a month. Wot Roll u need u think? Offcourse it all depends on ur main country, where do u live, in Asia u can be Pro with $5K Roll and grinding $1K a month, but lets say West-Europe Countries? Wot u think might be a good Roll/ Save Roll to go for monthly grindings? I think at least $50K think even more. I vote for $100K so u can try grinding $7,5K a month for living costs and trying to grow ur Roll even more.

Voted for 1 K a month, wich I know sounds very little, since I live in Sweden, wich is quite an expensive country.
But I live cheap, Got my own house with a couple of apartments I get rent for, and have a few different oddsjobs on the side, so that would pretty much put me up. ATM I'm making lika 150 $ a month, but I don't play as much as I could, since I tend to play worse if I do not think its fun.
Edit: Although I woulnd't actually call my self a pro, when someone else hears it. Only to my self...

imo roll of 100k and 7,5 k monthly is minimum. as you dont have any payments of your employer into regular insurance or into state-pension you have to do it on your own bamm.. 1-2k away you have to "live" ~1,5k you have to put money back for bad months 2k you want to have some money for deluxe cost you dont have as usual worker...1k

$4k a month or even a bit more for older people (like me). Youngsters may opt to go pro with just $2-3k a month. But they should made that for half a year at least.

Good question. Need to grind with a big roll like you said because like others mentioned, there are so many other factors in life that need to be taken into account. House, car(s), retirement, monthly utility bills/living expenses and the big one = children. If you have a kid you have to plan for a future for them too, for example not only putting them through school but then futhure education like college. Then throw in variance, let's face it, can't have a winning month every month, sometimes may go several months where get set back.
--------- Forgot to mention the biggest demon of all = PAYING TAX

Well, if you mean pro as in playing poker for a living, then I'd say you need as big a roll as you can (I recall Negreanu once said that his whole possessions was his bankroll), and you'd need to grind substantially more than an average paycheck to compensate for those bad months/runs

Voted for 7,5k$ a month. It's possible to maintain a healthy lifestyle at 4k$ a month which is still quite alot if It's without taxes (4k$ should be about 28.000 kronor, an average payout in Sweden should be about 18.000 - 20.000 kronor after taxes?) Well, 7.5k$ is a lot more comfortable.

I think that 20K is enough since a 2K for a month is enough (remember that this money is tax free). There you can live correctly, but true that its not palace life. 50 K make a good life i think.
@ doomdy your poll is uber-pro compared to many others.. no srsly, I think its quite interesting to know what other ppl think its needed. I personally think a 20k bankroll would be enough, but a 50k one is much better, if you wanna build up your roll.. everything above 50k bankroll is for ppl who wanna make a better living, with more luxus etc...

I voted on $100K rolls with $7,5K per month to be a pro in Portugal and make Poker for living. Of course it would be possible to live with less in my country, but if things went bad for two or three months in a row, wallet can turn empty soon.

50k - 4k a month is a minimum if you want to be a fulltimepro. Thats like 3k€, if you pay taxes, insurance and put something on the side i think 3k€ is enough to live a comfortable life.

I voted for Roll $50K, Grind $4K a month. as it would have to be MORE profitable to play poker thango to work... This would be just above my potential earnings per month so this is the minimum for me to give up work and play "fulltime" Belive you me thats a mile away from where i am today hahaha....lol I have a long long long way to get there. But hopes and dreams dont come overnight so i'll keep plugging away bit by bit peace.

/E: ok, read your post, gl semipro
Lollllll Well, yeh cud do it tmorrow if i want semi-pro that is, i dont want to be a full pro also not if my roll is $1M i allways be a semi. But i dont have super much time as i had before so ill wait a littl then ill invest in coaching to get better then yeh ill giv it a serious try to go semi-pro, in the mean time doomdy is on grind-mode.........
Taxes on gambling earnings can vary widely between countries. It's worth looking into before u make that decision. Voted on $100k bankroll and that's a minimum.Grinding 7.5k a month might even be too low since u still have build on that bankroll to keep it up during downswings to continue going up the limits , tourny buy ins, travelling, lifestyle, taxes, etc, etc.
