Are there any sites that actually take less rake?
And I dont mean rakeback deals or anything, just a flat amount of rake taken that's less.
I dont fully understand the different methods of gathering it either, from what I've understood it's that if you're in a contributed rake site you should play nit.

Which, incidentally, is a great deal. For a good player, rake can equate to at least the same as profit (100%), but more usually 200% plus. The reason for this is that you pay rake win or lose, so you need, for instance an overall win rate of over 10% in order to overcome rake of 10%, just to stay ahead. At Betraiser it's just 10% on your net winnings when you withdraw.
e.g. Normal rake: Play $1,000, win $1,120, rake@10%=100, net winnings $20 Betraiser: Play $1,000, win $1,120, rake=0, 10%fee=$12, net winnings $108

I played on betraiser and they didn't took any % of my profit when I cashed out. Where have you seen this ?

In Sweden they have Svenska Spel with 2.5% rake but because they don't give RB it is pretty much the same net rake as elsewhere and that site is only for Swedish players. Poker Stars takes less rake than most others because they have higher minimum raked pot even if they take 5c for $1 pot. Typically, high stakes games are raked much less than 5% everywhere because of rake caps for bigger pots. By the way, some sites take even more than 5% at the very lowest stakes. Of course, rake is just one of many considerations when picking a site to play at.

WRONG!! Play $1000, win $1,120, rake=0 10% fee = $112 (NOT $12), net winnings $8 (NOT $108)

now i really think youre just spamming for them
Well, its actually $12 because he won 120$, and 10% of 120$ = 12$. It takes 10% of your WINNINGS not 10% of your BANKROLL, so it doesnt include your original 1000$. If you dont make any profit from your original bankroll then they dont take the 10%.
But its a bad site to play at because they dont promote it and theres hardly anyone playing there... ever.

Guys you're all right and wrong: the fee obviously depends on what you withdraw from your account. If you withdraw your bankroll it's going to be $112, if you withdraw your winnings it's going to be $12.
But nevermind, it doesn't really matter as none of us are ever going to play on that site. I could get more mates together playing poker than that room has players at peek hours.
@Stevecut: Stop sticking up for betraiser man, it really does look they're paying you to spread the word about how great a site it is. Rubbish! As you can see from the traffic, no one wants to play there and people obviously have good reasons not to
