Now i'm not gonna pretend i'm some brillient or even that great of a player but let me tell you about my experience of "Pub Poker". I played last Teusday at my brothers local points tourny. The lack of skill was actually frightning! I folded QQ when faced with a strong raise after a flop of A 5 9 . I was shown AA and when I turned over my folded QQ every one was shocked......why? because i'd layed it down........WHAT! Some of the players were truly tragic.
A few hands later I was delt JJ so I raised and had 1 caller. Flop come 2 3 8 so I bet the pot approx 5BB and was called so now i'm thinking Hmmmmm I dont think they have an over pair (or they should have raised) I dont think they have trips (or they should have raised). I put them on AK or AQ and cant let it go. so I push them "all in" and they call with............................................................................wait for it......................... The turn was 5. They had A4 OMFG! i wanted to puch this idiot straight in the face.
My little brother just laughted and laughted. Now thats just poor poker. I liken it to playing 1c / 2c limit I cant win there either.
ive noticed that too from internet poker to pub poker you have to change your game,
theres a lot of donks, you have to play tight and wait for the right moment to double up, you carnt bluff against these players, three aces on the flop and there holding pocket 2s, there thinking ive got full house and they still never fold even thou there bigger hands, what can still beat them,
plus there is drink involed alot of it, they call on gut shots, flush draw doesnt matter whats in the pot , but hey they all are gamblers who would put all there dole money in the bandit and piss it up the wall then spend it on there wifes and kids. they dont give a f**k very poor players indeed want to hit there cards just once for that big win,
after all they have watched poker on tv for 5 mins and thinking hey thats easy and im better than that (yeah right)

Hello everybody! Paradoxically I find it hard player against a table with only very bad player. One is found very quickly in very silly with chances to win down very quickly because 2 / 3 go all in after you with waste and one of them certainly will hit See you soon for new posts!

lol this proves bad players are everywhere and online poker gets all the blame cos so many players play here and they can easily accuse of it being rigged. don't worry next time hopefully u won't get rivered again

pub pokers are fun to play in because most of the people will be drunk. good environment for poker until someone gets bad beat and gets pissed of. then the fighting will start . Havent been to a pub poker tourney that involves fighting, been to one or two where it almost started.

I have the same experience here. We have here a poker-club, where every day is cash-game. No matter what hand you have and how mutch you raise, you have minimum 3-4 callers. One of that donks always beats you. A few days ago i had QQ and was short-stacked. One donk calls mit with J6s and guess what, he gets his flush on the flop.

dont be so hard on yourself, thats the beauty of playing poker, youll never 'til the showdown... what if his just feeling lucky... but in the long run i know you would have won a lot... you should have stayed at that table, it would have paid you slow but huge...

honestly i always get in trouble with donks... if they find QJ or something they call your all-in easily and a little bit of luck and you AK is done... or when they pay nearly every price for a fucking draw and hit them... that always give me a hard time

My dad and his partner (+mates) play a lot of pub poker. A few years ago, during it's boom, it was a lot more like you described. Now thats it's just the hardcore left, it's actually a pretty good game. But it's pretty hard if you're not a reg (like me) since all the reg's have a fair idea of each others styles, know who the calling stations are, who the bluffers are, who the nits are, etc. Also, they know who doesn't fit in and is just a stray drunk/donk
But basically, I'm just saying, the pub games CAN be good. But this league is way out (not in a city, or anywhere near one) I've played city pub games before, and there's a fair amount of non-regs who just play total rubbish. The city games I've found good for a laugh/night of entertainment - but not great poker. The games "out bush" are much tighter, longer, more skilled games with only around 40 regs turning up each game and are honing their skills to a fine point.

I played once in Pub and after it wasn't "good poker" . First i started to play tight and see what it's going to be... but after my premium hands got crashed all the time i decided to change tactic... I was checking now flop with everything nearly (if it was cheap flop and play post-flop). After a while i know who was the flush chaser or Top pair fighter ^^ and it was quite funny. When i got sets it was ultimate kill cause they never think there can be a set

if you play on such site where there are a lot of these incorrect calls, then you should just adjust your game to their style and try to take them down one by one
