I made two deposits on everest poker last night of $5 each time, things looked ok I had an account balance of $5 each time. Then to my amazement when I checked my bank account online they had taken £10 not $10, I was very angry and they hadn't even added the extra dollars either. I could not afford £10 i could afford $10, surely if i only gave them permission to take $10 them taking £10 is theft or fraud or something. The worst thing is that their support seems to just be ignoring me aswell. What rights do I have in this situation?? Can I demand a full refund?

they have done some thing like this before but with peoples credit cards they would take the money as they said to cover some kinda fee or some thing like that, and they dont offer refunds, they might give you re money back, maybe, this is why I use pre paid visa or master card when I deposit there or any where, this way they can't take it if it's not there...
First of all, say that I always pay with bank transfer: is slower but safer. I don't want anybody takes my money. Secondly, try to make a withdraw back again from your Everest account to your bank account.

that is so ridiculous they would have to justify the fee's on a debit card being about 60% in that case, which they definitely are not. I cant find a UK phone number for them and they ignore my e-mails. What can I do? I am definitely not going to just accept this, when you fill out a payment form a company cannot take more than the agreed amount. I dont know who to turn to

sign up with the likes of moneybookers and put just the amount to transfer to the pokersite in it each time you need money .... this way they cant make a mistake and take the wrong amount

there are mor reasons to hate Everest. I remember when I was in a freeroll. 50 Tickets to a tournament, i was about 70.... 300 in tournament.... i decided to have a break. i mean those 5 minites breaks doesnt really help. After a few minutes i was out... Not because i blinded out! They just disqualify you if you are away to long ?! ô.0 This is fucking ridic.
try vc poker been playing there for well over 3years now, no problem depositing, and withdrawing money,, loads of freeroll and bonuses good promos, and all emails answerd in 36 hours, very good customer support they even have a live chat support talk to a chat manager, 1 always there 24/7
and no i dont work there........... just thought i share with you a trusted site
I'd just prefer to stay with the well known, established sites (PS,FTP,Party.....) since some of these smaller, less well known sites could be fly by night operations; here today, gone tommorrow.

Really!?? My god. If this behaviour is the same as all tournaments, not only in freerolls, I won't never deposit any cent in here.
Lol it's not, if you miss an entire round in free games though, they do disqualify you, this is actually a really good thing as they off free 10c SNGs which basically would NOT work if they allowed people to sit out, since they are really slow games. They do NOT disqualify people in gmes that actually cost to enter. Sorry for the person here who lost their spot, that's unlucky, but it's GOOD that everest do this.
OP: That sucks and I'd be onto everest over it just for the principle of the matter. End of the day though, it's really not a large amount of money and I wouldn't stress, just take your business elsewhere and maybe take on board the advice here (bank wire, moneybokers, etc)

It could be your bank charging the extra. When I used to deposit on Everest, my bank not only made money on the official exchange rate but also charge a fee because it's not the same currency used.
Open a moneybookers or neteller account if you dont want to have anymore problems there (although these companies also make a bit of cash on the exchange rate aswell).
Oh and one other thing, I don't mean to be patronizing, but if you can't afford to play poker, just play in freerolls or get a NDB off BRM. Never use money you can't afford.

for online gambling, no matter if u play poker or casino games, always upload your funds on moneybookers (they charge no fees), same goes for moneybookers to pokerrooms/casinos, 0 exchange fees.

I played at everest for a couple of months last year. The withdraw was pretty fast (3 days) to moneybookers. I've emailed them once and it took them about 4 days to reply so their support isnt the best.
Prehaps you should try email them asking whats going on? might have to wait a while for their reply though.

you have all the rights in the world to demand reimbursement; but before you do i think you should wait a little while for the suppots reply..., maybe its just an error, and surely they will return it back to your account... this is bad for their image... gl...

lol thats not fair maybe their support will get back to you and give you more $ must be some misunderstanding, i think everest are trusted enough but would be better to get moneybookers account, you won't have similar problems there

Never heard about such a situation. Really strange to hear that from a very big poker network, so I will be more careful by depositing money.
