Of courser he is not lucky. He is an excellent poker player, perhaps the best together with daniel Negreanu. He can be lucky or unlucky, but the way he plays makes him win more times than lose. Then some people say that he is "lucky".

So, what is your next poll about? "Who do you think is a better player, Mr. X or MR. Y?"
A good poll involves an extended opinion and more then just 2 answers, but that is just my opinion Tongue

Agreed. Plus, I already made a thread about HSP6. And I would've put a poll up if it warranted it.

The national debt of Greece can't make you this desperate surely. Blink

Of course he's lucky, all great players are from time to time, but it's his skill that got him where he is........ and that face Shock

you need to get lucky time to time, but he reads oponents like a book, thats why he has that amount of money won. Thumbs Up

I am convinced that Phil is not really luckier than most other players, on the contrary. Ivey has the stunning capacity to NEVER give away any tells on the table, and he manages to read his opponents better than any other player I know.
Furthermore, he is so composed that he can turn a rubbish hand into a winning hand because he know how to "play" his opponents so well.

para nada, el negrito juega re bien

I think he is probably a very scary player to be sitting with at the table. I have seen him take down pots where he didn't have the nuts, but made his move anyway and pushed much stronger hands to fold. At this point he plays a lot on his reputation, and why not? He's earned it. Makes amazing reads.

He is the best poker players nowadays. Of course sometimes he is lucky like the others. In poker you need skills and a little bit of luck. Like in the others sports
