I hate quads  0
I never ever get paid off when i hit my quads.

I raise KK in early position. One caller.

Flop is K66. I flop an absolute monster. I check it because there is so little chance he could of connected so i want to give him some time to catch up.

Turn is a K. A flipping king. Why couldnt it of paired one of his hole cards. I bet out halfpot cause you gota start building a pot before the river. Of course he folds.

Quads annoy me.

Now quads in omaha is a completely different story. Big Smile

If opponent has nothing, he has nothing. Maybe it would have been better to check all the way to let him bluff at the pot.

Or play against Negreanu, he WILL pay you off when you hit quads. Big Smile

the river bluff would of been so small if i had of checked it the whole way that i feel i gain more value by being called down by something like a pair of 10s.

I know i would call with a pair of tens on a K66K if the flop had been checked. But probably not bet.

And i know if they aint got nothing they cant call. It just happens so much more often if you are rolling with Quads.

Of cause. If you have such a big part of the board, there is not much left for the opponent(s).

yea its crap when u flop a monster and dont get paid off. I went for the checking option before but i found people alot of the time will just check along with u. Now i tend to just bet out on the flop and hope it looks like u are stealing the pot because i think people will think to them selfs has he really been lucky enough to hit that flop and if they have a pair i find alot of people pay me off a little anyway. I always did the trapping option before but i think the check is maybe to suspect. But if i bet on the flop and they call u with a pair when the other K came i think alot of people would be thinking the sneaky dog hes trying to steal the pot here and if the thought they were good on the flop they are good on the turn
Tell the truth ur prob a better player than me m8 but GL Thumbs Up

It's Murphy's Law.
When you want they call, they'll never call.

I have had such bad luck on poker for the last few days, i'm not hitting any decent hands. When i hit a good hand i make nothing for it or someone has a slightly better hand or lucks out with runner runner cards.

Like yesterday i hit no good hands for most of the day. Then I hit 77. Usually i would not overplay this hand but i put in a x2 raise anyway to try and establish if anyone had a decent hand. I get a few callers but most fold. Flop comes 7 2 5. So i think great. No over cards and no higher trips. I put in a large bet and get reraised. I call obviously thinking at this point i must have the best hand, i know there is a straight draw out there so i am ready to fold if i have to. Turn is a 9. I put out a large bet to try and get him off the pot now before he lucks out with anything. He raises all in. I consider the odds. NO flushes on board and no straights. Does he have a set.... I call his all in leaving myself with a few thousand chips to play the tourny. I flip over the set of 7s. He flips over the set of 2s. For a brief second i breathe a sigh of release knowing all my recent bad beats. Even if the board pairs now i will still have the higher full house. However, the rover comes and the board does pair. Another 2. He hits his quads. I almost Punch my screen Sad

Later in the same tourny i'm down to 1500 chips average stack is about 6000. I am playing tight waiting for an oppertunity to increase my stack. I post the big blind and the cards roll out. I get AA. Perfect oppertunity to double up in most cases. However, of the 9 remaining players on the table they ALL systematically fold, even the small blind didn't want to see a flop. I manage to get my blind back and steal 100 chips from the small blind.

So many bad beats and bad luck Sad I think i will take a break from poker now Sad

Ouch that sucks that you got one outed. Thats probably a lot more legitimate reason to be peeved at poker.

This happens alot to me though over the last few days Sad So many bad beats, too many to count. Then when i finally hit an hand nobody wants to play

IT's like the dealer is trying to make me crazy lol. I had 77 again 2 days ago. So i call a small raise preflop as i would like to see the board. Flop 5 7 K. I hit my set and call another medium raise. turn: 2 2 players check ahead of me and i put in a raise. One player calls i'm hoping he is holding 2 pair or something. River comes another 2. Player raises half the pot. I know the only cards he can be holding are KK and 22 that have me beat. So, considering my bad beats i just call him. I'm holding a FH and it's best hand i've had in the whole tourny. We flip over the cards. He has KK Sad GReat hand for him and great play. But it seems everytime i hit a great hand someone has me beat. It's like the cards are set up to pay everyone else to the max and when i hit the nuts i barely get paid off lol

------------
Maybe it's my time to have bad puck. Last week i hit AA so many times. In one tourny i hit AK suited 6 times out of 10 hands. My luck is turning i guess.

This hand always is played in the same way: you are absolutely sure that have the best hand so ... always check until the river. Your last chance to win money if he try to bluff in the river or had a 6.

see i dont thinking checking is the way to go, ok u know u have the best hand so u can check and hope he has a bluff at it. But lets say he has the 6 and hes checking the same as u and hoping u have a shot at it so u both have a shot at the river but by that time even if he has the 6 another K is now there and maybe he believes u have the K now because u reraise him. what im saying is if u just bet on the flop and he has a pair there is a good chance he will call u down and if he has the 6 u may get it all in on the flop. If he folds on the flop awe well boo hoo u won a small pot but how much did u make t the end of the hand just checking it down? then again if the only time u bet is when u have something the trapping option will be better as he would know u hit the K or the 6 or have a big pair. this is just my humble opinion Blink

yeah but what if he didnt have the 6 and you bet he folds,

when checking it with or without the 6 he might bluff on the river cause you acted week by checking it then theres chance to gain a bit more money Smile

yea i know what u mean but checking looks like ur trapping but if u bet then that can looking like ur stealing and the guy thinks u have missed and with the board paired twice he may even call u down with an A if u dont bet to much and ok if he folds u have missed out on a few big blinds with his bluff on the river and i still think to myself when that happens thats crap i had a monster and made nothing

lol lol. good one. well, you godda love quads when you hit a bad beat jackpot. anyway. even if you had the monster full house, without the K on the turn, u may not have had a good chance of earning much anyway. he would have only played if he had pocket 6 coz u say he called your early position pre flop raise. meaning he had high cards that totally missed the flop. or a lower pair than your representation. anyway, the pot wasnt fated to be big. better luck next time...

Its tricky to get a great pay off with quads as it can be quite obvious what you ae holding.
But it is possible you just have to get your stratergy right, dont bet too big try and make it look as you are chasing...lol (if poss)
Otherwise just get all your chips in... they might think you are bluffing and you could get a caller?
ut dont dispair having quads as you wont get them that oftern so just try to make the most of it.
If you feel you cant get paid with them All In ... you'll get a call every now and again!
Or stick to Omaha where as you know quads can get paid much more oftern.
Good luck what ever way you choose. Thumbs Up
Quads Big Smile Love it Big Smile

I hate straight flushes and Royal Flushes, i really do. I hate them that much, that they avoid me. Whenever i log into pokerroom, they fade away, like ghosts. Im so pissed about such behavior, so if i finally get one of them, i fold it and fold it real bad.

Hi SCDossett.

This board is difficult. Only with a strong starting hand he will pay your turn bet, but with that kind of hands he must reraise preflop..

I probably check turn and pot bet in river, maybe the other think is a bluff.

Bye!!
