Ive just found this game because ive been playing the horse freerolls just for a change and ive found well i survive in these tournys in hold em, stud and omaha. So i thought i would have a little shot in baby stakes cash game and to tell the truth still dont really know what im doing but hey i like it. can anyone tell me some good strategy and good starting hands and what to raise with was going to say pre flop lol but first betting if u know what i mean. Ive been starting with like a pair and another card of the same suit or like the start of the str8 and if they are all suited i will raise. its fixed limit by the way and would like to point out i have no idea what im really doing but with a bit of strategy would be good thanx

Of cause big pairs and three of a kind are good starting points. Also three to a flush or to a high straight. 5th street is the interessting point. If we stay in the hand here, we should go to showdown.

It depends. Do we have other options? (AKQs is much better than Q72s) How aggressive is the table? If we have picked up 4 to a flush at 5th street we are usually priced in to chase.

yea i see what ur saying see i kinda use a hold em strategy s its all i know really like do i have a good draw, i kep away from 72Q well mmm if its suited lol omg ive turned into its suited guy lol, but if say i had theQ72 suited to be honesti would raise and keep a watch to see if anyone else is drawing for the same suit and and of course watch out for possible full house with the others

I dont play stud in cash or stud tourneys, but I do play it because I play horse tourneys (I have final tabled couple of those morning 1000gdt fergusson 1$ horse tourneys) . Stud hi/lo seems to suit me too tho I only know basics seems like most players init dont even know that.

Hi Flippedchips.
I only play stud live with some friends. Is a really interesting style but, i think are less fishes than in Holdem. I think too, that is more difficult 'upgrade' the play because are less strategies in the web (or maybe i doesn´t find it ).

I like to play some stud games for a change. I especially like split pot games, so Stud8 is usually my choice when playing stud. I don't mind playing razz either
But I'm not getting nowhere near 5 stud...is so boring.!

dont play stud... dont play other games at all. Of course people playing horse or 8-game need more respect in my eyes, but i´m just not able to manage so many rules and strategys at one. I want to play one game really succesfull, than i cann bother about others...
