I think people just run you over, or that you play like a maniac. Actually the art with heads up is playing the player. Also what I do is trying to build a tight image in the first few hands, to then pick the right moment and change gears, and yes sometimes or a lot reraise with complete air or only a semibluff. In heads up there are two things, trying to figure on a short time how your opponent plays, adjust to that, and always keep in mind what he will have as image from you, and dissapoint him. If you keep mixing it up they'll become crazy, and they start to make big mistakes. also if you're short don't give up, but keep to your strategy, I had heads up matches where I came back from a few blinds and ended up winning, but then a little luck is involved off course, like in any heads up match in my opinion. But you can create your luck for 80 percent yourself. In normal heads up matches try to see some flops as cheap as possible with speculative hands, and try to put your opponent on a hand. The finals of a tourney also, but there it is more power poker, more then a normal heads up match in my opinion. You have to be agressive, sometimes fire three bullets for a pot, but don't waste chips. And with agressive I don't mean playing like a maniac like some guys do, because then the game is turned into a crapshoot where you can't create your own luck. Can give more and more tips, but really depends the situation and some practice, only for heads up play you can already write a new super system I believe. And please note this strategy works well in low and microstakes, don't have the roll to test it in higher stakes, but will be more or less the same I think.
to start off its good that your playing sit and gos and not cash so your saving money
when the blinds get so big in heads ups is really down to the player to start playing aggressively and to win these big pot some are skill and some are luck, push or fold,
its obvious your a tight player at the start of heads ups here are some tips.... In most heads up games, you should rarely be folding preflop... Tighten your heads up play a bit while as the Big Blind.... Make sure to stay aggressive preflop.... Mix up your flop play....

I agree with myeng, the hands leading up to the higher blinds is the time to analyze your opponent. Normally during this period I am trying to by opportunistic, see some cheap flops, vary my style of play and capitalilze on mistakes. Once the blinds hit 10X you need to be more aggressive as even the blinds make a difference. At 10X does he change his style of play too? Or does he let you see cheap flops? If you limp in on the SB with prospective hands and he rams it back at your preflop, you need to tighten up and only go in raising and in control. GL!

Heads-up with 10bb or less? One and only cure here - SHOVE EVERY hand that are better than J high . You can afford to fold few hands with 10bb, but definately dont wait for the premium hand.

i dont think its 50-50 chance to win. You have control on your hand. i dont matter ir i fold 3 or 4 hands in a row and the i double up. Ax, K9+ are good hands to push. Low Suited connecters dont push because some high pair will kick you. Just wait for the right moment to double up and then your opositor will face you different and then u will be able to bluff.
PS: sometimes when you have a really strong hand just limp the blind will be a sweet play.

i think when you play heads up or sng's, the best way is to observe how your opponent plays... understanding the type of player he is would give you an advantage...
