lol 999/1 = 0.001
The odds are obv 999/1. This means that there is one correct answer for every 999 wrong answers.
1:1000 implies there are 1001 combos.
As an aside, the safe should obv be cracked every 1000 guesses if every number was guessed with an equal %. Some numbers are guessed more often than others though, so I would suspect that the average #guesses till the safe is cracked is >1000.
