it depends on a number of things , is your ak suited what hits on the flop etc. if your ak is suited and you flop 2 of that suit obviously your gonna have more outs than if your ak was off suit or if you flop a straight draw for example then your gonna have more outs than if the flop was a56, it made sense to me this post i hope it does for everybody else lol

how to count out your percentage of wining a hand look at your outs, preflop this is not so relevant but once you see a flop start asking yourself what cards you want to see

say you have 9T, and there is 783 on the board, you have an open ender so any 6 or J will give you the straight, having four outs each you have 8 outs. now to get from outs to a percentage chance of winning a hand its best to times it by 2 and then add 1. so 8 outs means you are roughly %17 to hit one of your cards, but thats just over one card, so over both the turn and river double that number and you will be about %33 to win the hand. this means that if two people are all in before you its a good idea to call because you are hopefully 1/3 to win.

do the same thing whenever you have a flush draw, you have two hearts in your hand and their are two hearts on the board, this means that any heart will give you a flush. there are 13 hearts in the deck and you know where 4 of them are (2 in your hand and 2 on the board) we assume their are 9 more hearts left making you about 18-19 oercent on each card to get your flush making you all up about %37 to win the hand, slightly better than an open ender but you dont want to be all in heads up. now lets say you have K2 suited in hearts and the board is A92 with the A9 being hearts, you think you are up against someone with AQ or AJ by the preflop action. you have 9 outs to your flush but even though your pair of twos are currently well beaten they give you another 2 outs for trip 2's and another 3 outs for two pair, you know have 14 outs and are about 29 percent to see a card which puts you ahead on either the turn or river and roughly %57 to winif you see botht the turn and river, in this case you are looking very good even heads up

the best draw you can have is an open ended flush draw, 8 outs to straights 9 outs to a flush and if you have two live over cards (cards that if you pair you are ahead( you would have another 6 outs giving you 23 outs over each card to see a card that puts you ahead making you about %47 to win on each card, so about 95 percent to see a card you wont before the river.

does this clear up the concept for you, the first thing you have to do to count outs is decide which cards you think will put you ahead of your opponent
