before you start read the rules how to play it. When you have a account by big bet poker they have a free horse sng try this first to get a feeling for the game. Razz i think is simple but the most players play omaha like holdem but it´s not the same, omaha is more difficult as razz or holdem and by stud you must have an eye on the cards by the other players. But on first try with the free sng´s is better for the beginning. gl

Looks like you should play some Razz first.Take some low limit cashtables and just practice. And read , offcourse, atleast basic strat.-s. Omaha is the thing to fear, razz is simpler or im just dumb.

its limit so u hands are not as valuable but in razz never start without 3 cards below 6 or a 7 only if u have A 2 as other two cards omaha is nothing like holdem dont play it like it...u always have to look at whats the nuts and that wins a lot of the time

Razz is easy, Stud high/low is the most difficult. There are two flop games (Holdem and Omaha) and three Stud type games in Horse. So being a good Stud player is the basis.

Pokerstars always has these cash games going at low limits, so you can get good practice there. Due to the low $ amounts there is more variance, people will play anything! But with good play you should at least break even. I agree that razz is pretty simple, as you are only looking at the numerical value of the cards and not forming sets, flushes and straights. There are some good poker sites out there giving basic information on things like strategy and starting hands, they are worth checking out. GL!

I have read some articles, but still have more to learn. And practice, practice and practice.. My biggest challenge I think is my patience.... As many others Working on strategies for that too....

Maybe you should play those astronaut freerolls on Pokerstars. And dont bother if you get ticket to 2000 $ freeroll or not (there is about 8000 players on that tournament, so that means 0,25 buyin). Learn from situation that will appear on that 5 games. Its better than read articles. Yeah, you read that you play razz for example with A 3 5. And the you get 10 Q. Opponents has face cards 5 7 8. What to do? Can you beat him or are you beaten? Should you draw? That will comes so many times on tournament than you will know the answer.
I play 2,20$ 8 game mix now and then and its absolutely fun, one player is better here, other there. I hate play NL Holdem when its turn on that, then just wasting as time as i can... and wait for 3 stud games + 2-7 lowball.

Posted by gaupiz: I read the rules and think I understand it I have also played frerolls at Bigbet and actually came 24th (last prize) once.
Some strategies around it? Play tight at razz maybe?
i actually think razz is 1of the easier games when playing horse, its stud that annoys me,i would just keep playing the freerolls as pokerstars and f/tilt run them also and its actually a right good game horse but u need2watch out when it changes from razz to stud as i have lost alot of money thinking iv got a great razz hand when we are actually playing the 1st hand of stud,lol!gl2u and dont be afraid 2mix it up abit, with razz u more or less know what ppl have as u see 4cards and u know they have to use at least 2of them cards, its up2u whether u believe they have a hand or just bluffing and i notice alot of players play horse but sit out most razz games and some stud hoping to wait for the hold em or omaha hands, thats when u should be right in there getting what u can,gl at the tables!

Here's a good tip - make sure u know which game ur playing.
sounds simple even too elementary to be even be worth mentioning but there's not a single HORSE player that hasn't played a razz hand when the game has changed to Stud or a stud hand when the game has changed to hi/low.

Hi,you have razz freerolls at fulltilt also, but razz is very simple game, omaha, stud and holdem is harder to play,in razz is point to get smallest cards, read the rules
