SNGs on PokerStars  0
Hi Smile

I'm looking to start playing SNGs on PokerStars in the new year. I'm taking a break over Christmas. Anyway I'm looking to start at the lowest level I can, but I am a bit concerned with the rake in the lower limits.

I'm going to be playing around 2 hours a day, with two tables at a time, which equates to 6 games a day, and gradually build up the number of table at a time. My starting bankroll is going to be around $50 and I just need a but of guidance on where to start. I playes on party poker where the lowest limites have a rake percentage of 20% and it was pretty hard going to overcome.

I guess it's a question of both bankroll management (in terms of buyins) and whether it is worth playing higher limits with my volume of play.

[Turbo] $1.00 + 0.20 (17%)
[Turbo] $1.50 + 0.25 (14%)

Any help would be great.

if you wanna to really make a go at this and play it by the book why not have $100 as a bankroll,
this way you will have a chance of hitting your targets,
no pressure on your bankroll or the way you play at them stakes
if you havnt got the money yet start saving b4 just deposit $50, $100 alot better
even if it takes a few more weeks..... to get started..... gl

also try to just stick to playing the 1 table well just for begining till you have a bigger bankroll
and yeah the rake sucks at them stakes Sad

Thank you. I will consider depositing $100, and then start at the 1.75 games? I think the one table idea is better actually. What type of ROI would a winning player be making on average? I've heard of figures around 15%.

Also could you reccommend any poker tracking softwar, so I can track my progress. Cheers.

Never ever play SNG with rake higher then 10%, so if stars dont offer them just leave imo.

$1.75 is awful 75c rate on the $1 is just an insult to what us poker players stand for come to ub/ap they have good rake and lots of fish so 8/10 you will win

How do you calculate the rake percentage then?

I've done rake over total buyin so for a 1.50+0.25 I've done (25/150)*100

Thanks.

And would it be possible to suggest, if you know of any, a poker site that has small rake at the micros. Thanks.

It's 0.25c rake with a total buy in of 1.75.

I'll check it out thanks.

Dont listern to dozn01 increasing you bankroll will not bring the fees down.
Thes low stake games are far to hard to beat, you would need a real good rakeback deal or huge ROI
As doomdy says dont pay over 10%...go find a diffrent site that wont rip you off.
You could play DoNs with 10% fee untill your bankrolled to play the $3 games thats when the fees go back down to 10% on most sites.
Id also say 1 table is boring, you will get itchy fingers and start making stupid moves 2 tables min.

2 tables? I would fell asleep Big Smile.
Depends how much u can play at same time but 4 is fine for me...
Don't play to low tables because it's not good either. You can get bored and play bad also you're loosing cash because u could play 2 more at same time for sure which increase profit.
Anyway like some mention before 20% rake = u can't play them. U need to get much better profit because of that = not good idea when starting.

try merge network rake is 10% plus you can get around 35% rakeback which makes it just 6.5% rake Blink
traffic wont be a problem for you if you not gonna multitable much
cake has turbo sng 1.15 +.10 , with 4 paid in 10 player

+1 Thumbs Up that's exactly what I would have suggest there, starting with $100 as bankroll is the perfect amount so that you can tackle the $2 sitngo limit from the start instead of $1...

Anyway gl there, hpe you enjoy your christmas break Cool

yes nice advice,, wish I had taking it,lol,, those 1$ stgs on party are a killer , impossible to increase your roll quicky, if you can grind away for hours apon hour you might make it, but you might also end up with grey hair quicky, absolute minimum buy in on party is 3$ and I hate playing them,, in fact I think I just hate party, lol,, bankroll management wont work with 50$ if you are playing stgs on party,

Okay I'm on players only now. And the lowest I have found is $1 + 0.10 is that okay?
