Rounders 2 confirmed!  0
"After years of speculation, the sequel to one of the most popular poker movies of all time, Rounders, has finally been confirmed. The movie is still in the earliest stages of development and is scheduled for release in 2012."

I think is great! One of best movies ever!

P.S. Maybe is Matt learned something about BRM Big Smile

I did watch the 1st one, about a year ago now, yer it was rubbish, cant see why so many poker players got hyped about it, watch again and just see how bad the play is.
I will watch rounders 2 and hope it will be much better.
Wounder if we will find out whatTeddy KGB was holding.

"scheduled for release in 2012" often means it will be released in 2013 ... Sad

Rounders wasnt that good. Lets hope the sequel gives some thrill cause the first movie was poor.

BTW last weekend i watched 21, very good movie about the black jacks master minds.

What is the point about watching poker in a movie? Everyone who wants to see decent poker can watch one of the shows on TV or rail the high stakes games on the net.

Come on! How you dont like that movie. Because of that movie at least 30% more people play poker today...
Ok. Matt is stupid, he doesnt use Brm, He think if he won Chan one hand that he is the best Tongue but there is awesome role by John Malkowich and great lines:
- Listen, here's the thing. If you can't spot the sucker in the first half hour at the table, then you ARE the sucker.
-In "Confessions of a Winning Poker Player," Jack King said, "Few players recall big pots they have won, strange as it seems, but every player can remember with remarkable accuracy the outstanding tough beats of his career."
- It's immoral to let a sucker keep his money.
-You can't lose what you don't put in the middle. But you can't win much either.
-I guess the sayings' true. In the poker game of life, women are the rake man. They are the f..kin' rake.

"21" is quite a good movie, but it's nothing to compared to the book it's made after, the book i'm talking about is "Bringing Down the House". It's a true story and way better and interesting than the movie.

I think Rounders is a totally OK movie, at least OK enough to be bought cheap on DVD in the local store where I found it one day. Looking forward to the second, although I think there might have been enough of oldies brought to life again. I'm thinking of the second Wall Street movie (or whats it called, with Michael Douglas), another type of gambling, which was so-and-so, imho.

Edit: It was actually better to watch the first Rounders after having started to play poker, since I had no idea of why those people (Chan and the dude he beats, I know his name but can't think of it at the moment) where when I saw it way back when.

I have never seen Rounders! Shock

I have been wanting to see it for a while now, just never got around to it. Found a download copy and started watching it. Looks okay, Hollywood for sure but not bad. Anything that helps the game's popularity is good IMO.

I thought 21 was a expensive copy of M.I.T documentary that i watched some time ago. The thematic is the same but the MIT was very real.

I like the MIT documentary and i liked also de 21 movie, but i dont have any interest in the Black Jacks game Smile

The best poker flick ever will always be 'The Cincinnati Kid'

I only watched rounders fairly recently, it was a pretty average movie.. But hey, it was poker related, so I'll probably check the sequel.. But I'm certainly not excited over it. Standard Matt Damon.

Hey, respect to the Teddy guy, Knish and Worm!!! Cool
Awesome characters in a very cool plot about a grinder chasing fame and fortune and the ticket for the big WSOP dream... I believe everything was put in there in the right proportions.. the blond girlfriend walking the safe road, the con buddy, that Famke Janssen 'juice girl' character, quotes and punch lines spurting poker wisdom here and there... I've given the dvd to some of my friends that don't know Hold'Em and got pretty obsessed with it! Nice story that can really make you interested into that poker mutha and lingo...
Looking forward for that part 2, whenever it comes up Thumbs Up

Just finished watching Rounders, streamed it in from the internet. Hollywood style but better than I thought it would be. Fun to watch but glad I didn't pay anything to see it. Like ILI_002 said, a lot of good characters are put in place, but I think they spent too much time revolving around the Worm guy. Maybe #2 will be better.
