Right now there is a thread about bad beat stories. Poker players tend to remember the bad beats and forget the good hands they have played, but I would like to know what is your proudest poker achievement. Is it a winning year of hitting targets like some BRM members have posted? Is it an individual high stakes cash hand where you soundly outplayed your opponent for a huge pot?
Mine so far is a year ago qualifying from a $4 micro-satellite to a sub-satellite to a satellite to winning my seat on the 888 Sunday $80,000 tourney that 888 used to have. In a field of about 540 players I finished 36th for $600. At the time, 888 would then host a freeroll the following Sunday for all who played in the $80,000 tourney. From a starting field of 220 players I finished 10th for another $200, so $800 from $4 buy-in.

Well, I don't know about "proudest ever". But recently, I received the $50 (5000 points) Players Only NDB. I binked a 280 runner MTT (1st place) for a bit over $400. That was pretty sweet - about 5hrs long, a few lucky breaks along the way (about 2 hrs in I was short stacked, got it all in pre flop with QQ and opponent flipped KK, I spiked a Q on the turn and doubled up).
And a while back I went through all the satellites, starting from a points buyin 10 seater SNG and won my way through everything until I won a seat for the PKR Masters $100K GTD.
Congrats on your achievement too. That's a pretty sweet score.

Congrats to both of you! Well done.
My greatest acheivement was baging the first prize in a freeroll at Unibet, with a startingfield of 500 - 700 players, pocketing a cool 300 €.
The thing, though, is that it wasn't really my pokerabilities that took me there, but just stupid luck. It was the second tournament I have ever played, and I remember telling my wife: "WTF? This was so easy, I can stop working and make a living out of this!"
I have never since won a MTT. (Not counting a SnG with like 30 players.)
I came in second in the Everest new depositors freeroll though, knowing a lot more about poker than when I won the Unibetthing.

My proudest poker moment ever was between october and december 2009, with a 100 bucks deposit in pokerstars i turned into around 900 dolars playing only 2.20 turbo 180 sng. My roy in that 2 month and half was higher than 100 and i had around 30 final tables, with 12 wins, 5 2nd places and and 8third places.
Dont know whats happening now, i get boat half of the times, its sick i cant be profitable anymopre at that tournment.
been a few , must be wining my first tournament , wasnt a big win a 200 runner on VC for nearly 400£ but you alsways remember your first dont you? on a lighter side another proud moment dealing with poker was when after hiting the rail at a friends live cash game I fell asleep on the couch and woke up with a sandwhich sticking to my face not the first time this has happened what can I say I like my food , anyway everyone found this very amusing but did I let it faze me no! I stood up wiped the cheese and pickle from my face and bought right back in the game and I won over 500£,,,hmmm,,,

Nice nice! Keep the stories coming guys 'n gals. The achievements and high points are what keep us in the game, so it's always fun to hear people's stories.
Doomdy, if I had a graph like you did in 2010, that would certainly be one of mine! Maybe in 2011! Just have to stay away from the Doritos!

Hey mobsters, merry Christmas to all! I like it when I hear "from zero to hero" stories, especially when it involves bankroll upswings!
For me so far, the first defining moment of my online poker career was winning one of 10 PartyPokerfreeroll seats to a $250K Qualifier (I came 7th in 630) and then turning it into one of the fifty $215 worth tickets for the $250K tourney (I came in the first 50 places among 650 people). I still haven't played that $250K tourney, so when I do I'm hoping to make my way in the money and get some cash out of it (although the experience of playing that tourney which is way out of my bankroll must be worth it!...) Wish me luck! Needless to say that nothing of the above could be put into action without the BankrollMob NDB I got and registered to PartyPoker, so once again guys BRM rulez!!!!!!!!
The other powerful moment I had was a few days ago playing the Pokerstars PCA fantasy freeroll and coming 27th in 20,000 people, where I lost a coinflip and got eliminated with only a $30 prize. Really close to the final table and that 1 seat to the January PCA event, believe it or not I was very confident that I could make it but you need to have luck on your side at those inevitable coinflips.. It was also the longest tourney I've ever played (lasted about 6 hours from 3am greek time to 9am), so I realized for the 1st time how brutal it is to play all night chasing your big poker dream with only Mars bars and coke as your allies...
Still I believe the road is long and most of us are only at the beginning of our poker-Hall-Of-Fame achievements Keep the spirit guys!
well done good runs, coke and marrs bars luvly, next time get some micro chips thats what I do , oh and some saulsa sauce to dip them in,, and maybe a martini or 2 but no more than 2 or your asking for trouble, lol,, keep it up

Nice thread.
My proudest moment was about 6 months ago when I played a 1.10 buy-in on Pokerstars. I´d just read Gus Hansen´s book "Every Hand Revealed", and tried to play a tourney the way he plays them. I played every pocket pair I got like it was a winner. There were 5.000 runners, and I came in..... 1st! Unbelievable to me! First prize was only $75, but just the fact that I beat Everybody was a real Rush. Never been able to repeat that, unfortunately. Maybe I should read that book again.

I lost my job, and start to play poker more seriously and manage to live only from poker 6 months. Im from Serbia so average profit of 500$ per month was enough... Poker helped me when it was hardest for me. And Im proud that I am grinder for some time now...
dam I whish the living cost were the same here as Serbia , 500$ wouldnt feed my cats, well maybe but not me as well, lol,, anyway keep grinding away maybe you get a new sledge for christmas ,
Mine is when there were private league games at FTP where the top 20 of the leaderboard would play a $1000 prize pool freeroll, I placed into that top 20 and eventually won that freeroll for a nice prize of $400 that's indeed my proudest poker moment so far

For me it was winning 1st place for the first time in a MTT, only a cheap game so no big prize pool, but it made me feel I could keep doing it and that it is possable. That was a fair few years back now.
I was also very proud making nothing in to around $100, When I first started playing it was for free chips, but on UB back then you got points for playing, I used them to play a bounty game and ended up with a little cash to play with, never played play since even tho I lost my first bankroll to BJ.
Also I got a KO bounty on Anni Duke wich was nice but that was just luck and timing. I did bust Shauns boss on AP wich was fun because I was gunning for him. (this was a bounty but at a cash table) Im also quite proud of the little fun I was having along with M3Turbo on bigbet, the reason is that I had then just starting playing NL100 and with a little encourgment was also sat at NL2 (or NL4 I forget) and taking it serious...until I took the roll I made to a NL100 table and took a fairly quick beat and lost my roll there. I have lots of outher little proud moments in poker, none of them revolve around money, just little things like having a great read over the table and droping hands people would not dream of droping. to the thread, looking forward to reading more of outher users moments.
