Ouch ..this can happen to the best of us this is why poker is "gambling"
when this suck out type plays happen to me i stay at the same table and try and catch the donky off guard use some patience and you will get it back

Pretty bad... but why did you call 530 on the flop when you had Ace high ?
so you were actually behind pre flop and on the flop then got lucky and hit your ace then a bit of bad beat.

bad play or bad beat ???

that is a fair point george25. The reason i called the 530 was because the two players in this hand were very loose and playing with garbage betting big to scare people to win the pots. I was pretty sure that no one had a king in their hand which turned out to be right. I will confess though that the guy with pocket tens was raising with anything so I didn't see that one coming with his pocket tens I had no faith in his poker skills. I was behind on the flop but on the turn I was winning when my all in bet was made

yea while i was reading that i got the feelin of bad play too i mean yea that does suck but its not really a bad beat either way but i think you set yourself up for a trap there possibly

Yeah you shouldn't call the 530 on the flop ( no draws, no pair etc ). And if they are loose then i still wouldn't call that amount with nothing....

yes it is if we could only have it our way all the time there be no winners and no use playing bad beats are part of the game and like em or not they happen gotta admit tho we dont moan when were on the better end of one ah

very true, we never complain when we are on the other end of one. Mind you I usuually acknowledge to the other player I made a bad call & got lucky if they can play poker well rather than being a fish

the problem in this hand is that you call in the pre flop a hell of a raise over 10 times the big blind!!! AQ is nice hand but it is ev- to call in the beginnig of the tournament with this hand and in flop why the hell you call with A high you only beat bluff Sad

Thanks riina for your contribution. I will admit it was a big gamble calling theses raises but out of 10 players on the table 7 were sat out so these 2 players were putting in big raises with garbage most of the time just to steal the blinds. I just thought I had the best hand pre-flop(wrong),flop(wrong) & turn(right). i was sure no one had a king in their hand the way they had been playing(right). I just didn't think anyone had a pocket pair

thats one sic river!!!

I suppose the best way to get ova it is to console yourself that u were ahead wen the money went in.

And without bad calls like the ones with the pair of 10s, we would have no fish to fry !!!!!

ul, anyway

i played at dmh and had pocket aces the flop droped jack jack jack and the there were 3 in the game first to act went all in next man folded so i thought that he had a smaller pair than me so called but he had the other jack wow but its a real bad beat or is it what do you think

nevertheless you believed too much in your hand after the flop. You should have gone out after that.

I don't like playing freerolls, so many donks. Why don't you reraise before flop to isolate? You're only going to hit an ace or queen on flop 33% of the time. Oh well, would have been the same result.

I don't agree with the call on the flop no matter how loose the players were

how many times does it have to be said? don't whine about your "bad beats" on freerolls. they're FREEROLLS. keyword being FREE. so the crappiest players are going to be in the game. you can't expect them to make smart moves.
