its probably because I have been playing 6 seat stg tourneys for so long that I have lost touch with the different aspects of playing 10 seat stgs , the last couple of days I have been playing 10 seat stgs on a site I have never tried before ( a reccommendation from a friend got me a free bankroll ) and I have found it really difficult, the pace of the game is so much slower more of a grind similar to early multi table tournament play , to be honest I dont like it , perhaps if I get the bankroll up higher and play higher stakes then it would give me more incentive , low stake 2 and 3 dollar games just aint worth the grind , with the 10 seat stg everything or most things from my 6 seat stg strategy has to be thrown away, positional play becomes ever more important , size of bet must be given more thought , starting hand range reworked, and the patience needed increased fourfold , anyway a quick idea on what your preferences are 6 or 10 and your thoughts on the different strategies needed ?

For me 10 seater cos they are for me easier and easier to multi table. When i play 6seater i can multi 4 at best when i play 10 seater i multi 4/6 at least. So it all comes down too winrate/hour, 10seater or 6seater gives me allmost the same winrate/table so best for me is obviously 10seats cos of playing more tables = more profit.
Have to agree (but wasnt ur question) 6seats is more poker more skill.

yes coming from yourself that sounds the way, I cant play more than 2 tables at a time so winrate/hour has never applied , I prefer 1 table at 20$ plus if I have the roll ,lol,, which at the moment I dont so grinding at 5$,, yes having just won my first 10 seat after 2 thirds and a second its is more profitable playing 10, but like you say I think the 6 seat is more skilfull and a lot sharper , spoting weak players seems easier too,

I prefer 5 seater on Ongame Earlier I played 10(9) but lately I play 6(5)sngs. Hmmm, I think that best is to play only premium hands when blinds are small. Meanwhile at least 3 donks will be busted and then it is 6 seater

I think its better 10 seater sng. RThe bigger is the field the bigger is the probability to get more bad players starving to shove the gutshot or the flush draw. If you play 6 player sng you need to be mroe patiente and play tight as hell, wait more time to the blinds go up to play on tyhe attack. If you play 10 players the bad player is easier to detect and can be easier to be exploited too.

Well, here's the reason I woted 10-seater.
I play DoN:s, every now and then, mostly for the entertainment, not the money. 2.5 € or 5 $, I'm doing quite well, but since I don't like multitabling tourneys, it doesn't add up to any money to speak of.
Only time I actually play them for the money, is if I have run down a pokeraccount to like 10 $, then they are very easy to build it back with.
No idea playing against better opponents than one has to is my, ungentlemanlike, opinion.

10seaters for a nit like me. More room to play poker in those, and if a maniac donks off his stack early it has not that much influence on the gameplay.

I have to disagree with the "skill" issue.
6-handed will favour agressive players earlier on. Everyone´s range is wider because only 12 cards get dealt, but this also means varience is higher. The skills needed for 6 or 10-handed are completely different IMO.
Have played both, both regular and turbo. I do about the same in most results-wise. I personally prefer the 10-handed games, because the payoff is higher.
They aslo feel like mini-tourneys to me, because they require: Patience at the start. Widening your range as the field thins out. Push or fold agression near the end. And the Heads-up, which I love to play, and basically comes down to reading your opponent.
I agree the length can make them boring in the long run, whereas the 6-handed run more quickly and will get you more of a "rush" through the whole thing.

Agree. I'd rather prefer 10 seats normal speed. Turbo and 6-seat sometimes become a crazy exchange of "push or fold" when blinds grow up. And, as doomdy said before, multitabling with 6-seat is a nightmare.

Agree! When I multitable the 6 seat turbo sit-n-gos timing to starting one is crucial, so that they are all at different blind levels. Sometimes though, things go real fast on one and you end up HU on two tables at the same time, just different blind levels. Then things get interesting!

For me it depends on the payout. If I am looking to double up a double up 10 seat SNG is good. If I want to improve my skills for events I like 6 man SNG for more action. You have to have a good balance of both to be a good player though.

I prefer 10 seat. I always like some fast action on SnG so i play double or nothing. If i do it in a 10 seat, i do much better than if i play at a 6 seat.
