today i got the message that pokerstars will cancel the usual DoN´s of their software next week ( feb 15th) in aid of the new structure of fifty50 sng´s

i am not that surprised . played a few of this fifty-50 sit&go's and did not like them at all ... it's more profit for pokerstars and the players are losing on it as the buy-in and the payment structure give more benefit to pokerstars and you also need to finish with a maximum of chips to have some profit , playing tight and trying to survive as in the DoNs to be in the prizes is not awarded . It's surely not a good move from pokerstars ... at least not for the players .
I don't mind what pokerstars will do with DoNs because I don't like them. It has no sense: the 1st one finishes with 7,500 chips and the last one 5th with only 90 chips; both win 20%. That's not pure poker.

as I dont play on pokerstars perhaps you could explain what this 50/50 sngs are, a DON as far as I know or play is say a 6 seat 20$ buy in with top 3 getting 40$ back?

10 seat - 5 winners, but instead of each player win the same, each player win a fixed part (the buyin) + a variable part depending on the remaining chips. It's fairer than don. See also here: http://www.pokerstars.com/poker/tournaments/types/#fifty50

What the point of this may be? I just can lough of this there is a lot of regular DON players who will go to FTP i think :}

seems to me that it will encourage more aggressive play which is not the usual play that I have seen in the normal DON setup,

As far as I know, FT doesn´t offer DoN´s. Never seen any there anyway. Am I wrong, did I miss something?

yes u ll say true i also no play Dons and no play this joker dealing system using poker site becouse they allways take my money and never let me win some but for some players it will be really sad becouse dons was the part off them playin poker and sometimes quite big part

Yes, i know players who take profit only playing dons. They have studied the right strategy with great results ( a friend of mine takes about 75% of them). Search for another strategy, my friend. RIP DoN's

I think it gives to reasons: PokerStars can´t get enough and want more and more Fee and it gives too much collusion at the DoN tables. At the Fifty50 SnG´s, all players need the chips to get more money.
but for some players it will be really sad becouse dons was the part off them playin
