I thought id make this thread so people could share there best or favourite poker experiences. as we here so much about the bad times thought it would be nice to hear some good times. In online play or live.
my favourite experience is my first live tourny. it opened my eyes to differant styles of play and helped me in multi table. there were 12 9player tables with a prizepool of £400. top 3places paid. 1st.£200 2nd.£150 3rd.$50 i struggled to start with but when i settled in an took a few pots i started 2 enjoy it. I slowly built my stack playing tight early on after a few hours of play i had a really good stack 10 players left i hit AA 1 player shoves and i call. he has KK flop came KJ5 i thought thats it im gonna be gone very soon. the the turn came J then the flop A after taking that player out it was time for final table i went into it first in very compfortable position it was a good final table and took a while i eventually ended finishing second to a really good heads up player. i was really happy with a payed finish i didnt expect to get past the first table lol.

MY favorite poker experience was quick and profitable. IT was three card poker. I got in a game, and my first card was a 9 of spades,i called all bets, My next card was a ten of spades. Again i called all bets, then the third card was the jack of spades, making me a straight flush. I won the pot of more than 500 dollars in less than three minutes. The very next hand i hit ace,ace ,ace. there was again a very large pot, which i took happily. I then got up and said, "im out of here and im a big winner later men and left with over 1100 dollars. it was great
So I'll add one. Years ago I used to shortstack 1000NL, and had built up from $200 to about $575. I was dealt AA, raised preflop to 90 and had a caller. The flop came out As-2c-7h, he checks and I bet about $140, and he called, the turn was a 2h for full house, he checks and I figure if only one hand can beat me, might as well check and see what happens. The river is 5h at which point he shoves and I snap call. He had rivered the flush and I had full house for a $1100 pot. What made it extra special was a fellow Canadian was at the table, someone I chatted with from time to time and who I really respected as a very good player, and he commented WP.

Posted by GIOMi6: My biggest online win was $300 for finishing first place in a tournament with only 83 entrants. Small field and big cash , I like that very much.
my bigest win was on tournament there was about 600 entranses 1-st place 371 $ but i prefer more play cash games or sngs not tournaments but sometimes i ll play tournaments then have some more free time and want spend it at the poker tables good luck and have fun

in that one whole week, i managed to turn 500 pesos (around $12) into more than 40k pesos (roughly $1K) playing live here in manila...it started that run i needed to recoup all the losses i had early on..

My favorite poker experience was last year. I had a friend who had enough confidence in me to stake me, I quickly built a bankroll within weeks cashing 3rd and winning the H.O.R.S.E. 1$ Chris Fergesun freeroll. Alas I payed my poker playing friend back along with the 50% split of the profit as agreed, which still left me with over a hundred dollars, alas through poor play and bad bankroll management I went bust again. Too embarrassed to ask my friend for another stake I began spending meaningless hours trying to cash in the 7500 person freerolls on fulltilt my site of choice, which I did do a couple of times but was never able to turn it back into a roll. I was honestly losing my passion for poker, until an online player I knew was playing in a small freeroll put on by a webite called BankRollMob....That may have only been a month ago but this site, it's freerolls, leaderboard specials, mob games, and forums are everything I needed to stoke the eternal poker fires! So I'd have to say my best oker experience was finding this site. Thanks Mobsters!
ok ive had a loads best/favourite poker experience, but here 1 that happened many years ago, was in a $5 tourney around 600 players, only a few hands into the game went all in and my pocket kings got beat left me with 90 chips , cut a long storey short after 4 hours play i went on to win the tourney of around $300, can remember the guy in second place on final table, saying carnt belive you have won this coming back from that , cause he was the guy who nearly knocked me out 4 hours ago lol, so the moral of the storey is a chip and chair is all you need and the rest is history
sorry i think it maybe 65 chips i was left with, was along time ago

Dozn, Love that 1! I love "Chip in a chair, hope, and a prayer stories" When I first started playing straight texas hold em tournies as oppossed to the mixed game change poker I learned with my family. The 3rd or 4th time I played with the guys from work they played tourney style for 5$ a man everyone only started w 50 chips the blinds started at 1-2 and doubled everytime 2 people went out(I know weird structure, these guys didnt even know that the dealer was the small blind heads up!) Anyhow I was knocked down to a single chip in the 1st or sencond hand and came back to win it! Man I love those chip in a chair stories!!!!
