At the site i used to be a member of, i hosted a tourney at FTP. Only members of the site received the password. This was great because only us friends from the site played. It was a regular thing, every morning. The turn out was pretty good, it caught on quickly. So would anyone like to see this happen here? The only problem i have is the password distribution. We don't have a message system here, and that would automatically eliminate the steal-rs. Let me know, cause it's easy to set up a private tourney at FTP...

yea i and a few others tried to set one up for every week a while back as mazas says but was never a great turn out, alot of people dont want others to know there poker names or its hard to get a time thats good for everyone and so on. if i remember right Fulltilt was the best place to hold it as that was where the biggest number for a turn out but that was only 27 people anyway GL with it maybe worth a shot alot of new players now

Posted by BMWman: Lol oh well. Was just a kind thought. Thought maybe there was poker players here, guess not.
Woah, hold your horses BMWman! Nobody said they didn´t want to play. In fact it sounds like almost everyone wants to play. Me too.
They were just saying not to expect a huge turnout. A lot of people will say they will play and maybe not be able to on the day, or decide last minute not to etc.
The password is no problem because it´s not necessary. Passwords are only stolen for Private cash prize games and freerolls. In a private buy-in tourney, only Mobsters will show up.
So sure, if you´re up to it, give it a go. We´ll see what happens. Always fun to play with Mobsters, even if we´re only 10-20, or whatever.

Then how about people put down a time that they could play. And you didn't vote, did you Jack??? LMAO. Ok so those in favour, give me a time frame on which they would have time to play. Not looking for a huge turnout, Jack is right on only being 20-30 participating members. Which is good enough for me. Even if only a final table show up, does not matter to me. I would just like to play poker with some nice Mobsters.

Yep, I did vote, but my connection keeps going out tonight. guess it didn´t take. I´ll vote again. Probably best to suggest a date and time that suits you, and see what happens. People will react with wheter they want something else and you´ll get there.
It wíll take some changing and posting, ask Flippedchips. He worked his a** off to organise some of those last year.
Edit: My vote´s not being counted. Maybe I´m banned from voting...

hmm, dont know... because: i dont want a huge buy in... but a small one is bad either because we all know how many are playing the freerolls vicious circle

good idea man,it has been tried many times and failed, i wish you luck, just use your name in a tread or something like that [as long as it doesnt mention full tilt, free roll or tourney] you should keep the password thieves away

Sounds like a nice idea, or on pokerstars-homegames. Thats very easy and all 'homegamers' recieve special bonusses and have a 100K freeroll each month! Its a special promotion on Pokerstars since 2 month's or so. They take care of password distrubition as well, but i don't know how many players per tounement Either way good idea, dont really care what site

Sounds like something I'd like to learn about. I could only play on Saturday or after 5:00 on weekdays due to work, but I understand it would be set up based on the time frame that fits the biggest share of players. Good Luck! I'll watch for posts / updates pertaining to your decision.

When I eventually get around to joining full tilt I'd would definitely play. What would the the stakes and style be? Texas Hold em' I assume but just checking. And what about pay out distribution?

Payout would be regular FTP %. More that play, more in the pot... I was thinking on a $1.10 buyin or something like that. Just a friendly game so we can get together and chat and get to know 1 another. I believe FTP is on a 20% to the winner, can't remember. I can also post the PW on my profile page. For those wanting Poker Stars, can't do that. No bankroll there, plus you have to have 5000 lifetime points before setting up private tourneys.

That would be great a small buy-in tourney, if it goes well then you can start playing bigger buy=in tourneys. Is a great idea, and let me know when the first tourney starts.

I on the other hand think, that there would be a very small amount of players and the prize pool would be small too, so even less players would be interested.

yea there was a few i dont care myself but some do, as jazzy jeff says the pokerstars home games would be good as people can use a different name there and plus the bonus of 100k freeroll is nice. the best times for everyone the last time was around 8pm GMT but there is more americans about so i dont know you can sort it out il leave it to you
