World Series of Poker (WSOP) Does anything about your game change if you're up against a woman instead of a man? Do you play differently at all? Some of the answers to this question were quite interesting. So now I put it to you Mobsters. I know your answers will be intelligent as always.

Online I don't notice the sex of players as I don't see female avatars as an indication of being a woman. Playing live I've played against far more men than women but I have to say I've never played a woman I thought was good at poker. I'm sure they are out there but the women I've played have been average at best even if they were not the worst player at the table. Still I play exactly the same as far as I'm aware. I judge the style and skill level of a player not their sex, age or race. It would be very foolish to assume anything about an opponent before playing them. I have heard people say that men are at a disadvantage against women who are attractive but if you can't block out your emotions for a game of poker then you are always in trouble.

Very good answer here. If you play a woman differently than a man, you will get into trouble early on. Their skill level has nothing to do with their gender. I noticed that many of the answers given at WSOP were against women. Most said they would show them what it is like to play poker. But in all reality, there are women who are better at this game then men. Simply because of their knowledge and skill level.
Is there a lesson to be learned here, yes. Don't change your style of play just because of a gender. Remember, women are just as capable as anyone else out there.

As previously mentioned I don't think anyone should pre-jusge an opponent before they start playing them, if you do you'll end up in trouble and skint/ broke. Imagine sitting down at the final table of a major tournament, chip leader with Phil Ivey, Chris ferguson and Jennifer Harmen. If you treated Jennifer any different than the other two because she is female and went out in 4th place, how stupid would you look. Don't be fooled by their charms, they are as dangerous as anyone.............Anyway good luck to you all.

I agree with awood88, online I don't really see a variation in the way I play. As for live poker, the women I've played against could kick my a** if and out drink me so I don't know if I've actually played against a woman. lol Have a great day!
------------ LMAO jovica, Can't wait to show my wife. Reminds me of an incident she had because we have a ledge to the right of our driveway. Good Day!

To change my game according to male/female would only expose a weakness in my game, same goes for age, beauty etc etc, I juge everyone the same to start with, full respect untill proven outher wise. However live I might be tempted to stear a little harder and longer and chuck in a wink or two..
