Perhaps its a april fools joke from full tilt ?
No but seriously i have had the exact same problem and in my case the problem was my bank ... i went to the bank and the people working there almost started to laugh at me when i said i wasnt able to deposit at a poker site on the internet, i got the "this guy is a gambling addict and doesnt know anything" look.
I got pissed and went to another bank i knew my friends were using flawlessy to deposit at poker sites and closed my account at the old bank and transferred my money to the new bank.
I have never had any problems with paying/depositing online since then, and the process of changing bank took about 10 minutes.

FT wouldn't take my pre-paid Visa the other day and in the past it was accepted, but that was back in Novemebr of 2010. Don't know how you tried to deposit, but my last deposit I had to use bank rouring number. Wish you the best of luck!
