World Series of Poker (WSOP)
Situation: Double or nothing tournament. $100 buy in, top 5 get paid. 7 left.
Blinds / Antes: 150 / 300
Your Position / Stack: Button / 4,200
Your Hand: AsAc
Action: UTG is short stack and goes all in for 1,700.
...Callers / Stack: UTG + 1 calls with 6,000 behind. Cutoff is 2nd shortest and goes all in for 2,500.

What do you do?

Raising all in baby

Easy decision. You want to win in MTT. You play MTT for because of big money that 1st place gets. 5th place probably wins something around 250$ and thats not worth folding your aces. ALL IN!

Why go all in though? I don't get that...Whats the point of putting your whole stack in

what are holdin anything less then AA OR KK QQ is mlk the clock and grind it out

re shove all in. If you flat call your calling for half your chips not really worth it. the big stack is probably calling with a hand like kq or low pocket if he had high pockets or ak he woudve re raised so best thing to do is re shove.

Hmm, Jovi irrespective of the fact that an AllIn is not to bad decision, I guess you mentioned a wrong reason for it Cool Blink
(Look at description of tournament).
Maybe I would have just called this, because of the fact that it is a DoN with 7 players left and no need to risk my whole stack.
So I have two chances: 1. to win this hand, 2nd both shortstacks loose against the big stack and Iam in the money Big Smile

In a tourney it would be a fistpump call. But this is a DoN. No point in calling here. Big stack will bust us 10-20 percent of the time, but we will miss the money on a power percentage if we fold here.

Yes, DoNs are strange poker tourneys.

Sorry shokaku, but I really don´t understand what you are saying here (because of my low poker experience).
What would you do in this situation ?

Its a DoN so easy fold.

Hm, so just folding because it is a DoN, hoping the others are busting them out each other ?
Even with AA as pockets ?
What should I play than instead ?

Fold. (But i must say i thought the big stack had gone all in)

We will most likely make the money anyway. So we may win the hand, win some chips, but don't win any money, cause 1st price money = 5th price money.

But if we lose the hand against the big stack, we are out and miss the money completely.

Win or lose I'm gambling with AA allin. I'm a beginner and that would be my beginner move. Would like to have just called the 1700 to see the flop, but if the 6000 in so am I. Maybe I don't fully understand the poker lingo here. Good Luck to All!

Yes if there is any hand that you wanna shove preflop it has to be AA even though mine get cracked a lot, many times it has held up and scooped big pots as well!
