if your deep stacked and OOP with a decent hand i think a min raise isnt bad preflop because it lets you know where you are at after everyone gets to act, and i find after the bubble the min raise is just as effective as a 3xbb because if they are gonna play they will play and you want to try n avoid gettin it all in at that point unless you got aces. i normally make it around 2.5x preflop except early during a tourney then i make it around 3.5

Thats a good point Jibberish, another plus for your posts. I actually never thought that we could talk about tournaments and sit & go, i always thought we talk about cash games. Of course in a tournament or on a multi table sit and go , after the blinds go up and are pretty high, plus the antes is on, a standard preflop raise is 2x or 2.5x. But frank;ly thats the only possible reason to do a min raise(when i say min raise i'm talking about 2x, 3x or 4x are no longer min raises). And by the way a min bet can also be good on turn before you can see the river, i mean it can give you some info on what your opponent has but this might wrk against fish players, a regular would always fold or most of the times reraise against your min bet an never call it. Good luck to all!

Well, sometimes I use a minraise if I have a very strong hand, trying to trap people and making them reraise my minraise. On the other hand, if I have a good draw on flop (e.g. flushdraw) I use it sometimes as a blockbet, but for sure it don´t work everytime.
